“ You just had to come earlier than the date you told me , you did that just to clown me didn’t you “ Childe sighed rolling his eyes while La signora nodded pushing past him

“ Naturally , one enjoys making you look like a fool. Back to business , have you got any clues on who might our gnosis be with clownagila ?“

“ No , ugh there’s too many people in Liyue it could be anyone ! We are going on a wild goose chase , for all we know there aren’t any gnoses left in Liyue “ Childe complained trying to sound convincing

The tsaritsa would have all the archon’s gnoses , surely not having y/n’s wouldn’t be much of a problem since she doesn’t wield an element anyway

“ Well then get to work boy “ La Signora scolded as she looked around the once lively streets of Liyue

And Childe just started sprinting , silently hoping Y/n-Yujing had already left the funeral parlour . Speeding up to arrive before the agents in case she hasn’t , buying him time to hide her in a coffin or something .

" I have nothing to hide , besides they talked about one gnosis not two " Zhongli smiled sweetly at the goddess , patting her head lightly as she frowned at his words

" what if she hurts you..." Yujing hugged his arm tightly while he laughed quietly

" why I have you to protect me "  He wrapped his arm around her waist , pulling her closer to him

" WHAT KIND OF SICK JOKE IS THIS CHILDE BECAUSE NO ONES LAUGHING " Yujing pushed the lid up enough for her voice to be heard

" just say thank you you ungrateful brat "  hitting the lid close again to shut out the angry protests from his best friend

“ YOUR SO GOING TO GET IT FROM ME WHEN IM OU-MMHFM “ Her voice muffled by the coffin’s cover which was practically slammed into her face

“ YOUR GOING TO THANK ME “ Childe whisper yelled as he bolted out of the storeroom just in time when the agents arrived at the funeral parlour

“ Mr Zhongli , your gonna have to follow us...La signora wants to talk “ A fatui agent commanded as he grabbed the male by the arm while the other agent started searching the parlour for other people to question

" the front areas are cleared we should check the storeroom-"

“ We have a corpse in the backroom please do not disturb it “ Zhongli said calmly in which the agent immediately withdrew from going further down the corridor making a sound of disgust in the process

" of course Mr Zhongli " He shuddered at the thought of stumbling upon a rotting corpse

“ Yeah it doesn’t look very pleasant ” Childe chuckled awkwardly praying to venti Yujing couldn’t hear them

“ Hey ! Be nicer to Zhongli ! He’s old you might break his bones “ Childe yelled from behind the two agents as he locked the heavy doors to the parlour , making sure no one could get in
