3RD POV

At the guests room of the jade chamber

( a room where Ms Ningguang can have tea and discuss matters with guests )

" So Acting Grandmaster Jean ,what brings you to the Jade Chamber so late at night ? " Ningguang asked watching Jean , Kaeya , Amber , Lisa and Diluc ( who was dragged along unwillingly by kaeya ) take their seats at the opposite sides of the long table , before gesturing the qixing guards to close the heavy doors to the chamber . Leaving the remaining mondstadt knights to stand guard outside

" We have come here to discuss a matter...regarding something of ours that is in your possession " Lisa said calmly as she passed an old book to the tianquan who opened it's pages reading intently before scoffing at the book's contents

" Is there something of your amusement Ms Ningguang ? " Jean asked sternly ,slightly agitated at the response of the white haired lady seated opposite her

" If your here to retrieve Lady Vanessa's sword i'm afraid i am unable to help you , yes the qixing was involved in the war in which she was slain 300 years ago but we were never in possession of your ' Legendary sword ' which is by the way called lightbringer " She calmly replied sliding the book back as she poured herself a cup of tea

" if you don't have the sword how do you know it's name ?" The dandelion knight questioned as her anger rose , suppressing it to maintain a calm and composed facade

" I simply do my research and refrain from making baseless claims " Ningguang rebutted coolly , showing no signs of agitation as she bluntly shaded the knight who sat before her

" Are you saying that this age old book is a fake ? It was found at her grave , with her journal ! I'm sorry Ms Ningguang but i do not believe what you are telling me-"

" I didn't say it was a fake , i simply said i do not make baseless claims "

" Well then Ms Ningguang if you have nothing to hide maybe you could allow us to search the jade chamber " Kaeya spoke for the first time tonight smiling innocently at the at the woman who was taken aback by his words

" I'm afraid i can't let you do that , we can't let the many secrets of Liyue and it's inhabitants be made available to...outsiders" the increasingly bored Ms Ningguang replied once more as she emotionlessly looked at the knights who was visibly agitated

Except for Diluc and Amber, the pyro gang was just enjoying the tea and snacks which were placed at the centre of the table

" Well then you are obviously hiding something Ms Ningguang " Lisa huffed folding her arms as jean got increasingly enraged

" I assure you we are not "

" Your assurance isn't enough " Jean snapped

" unless you allow us to see the evidence ourselves that you do not possess ' lightbringer ' i'm afraid we are not leaving tonight "

" Well then i will have to warn you that refusing to leave the chamber after one's appointment or when asked to will result in us making you leave...by force " Ningguang scoffed back

" so be it "

" i have business to attend to , Kaeya as i said before , no matter the result i am leaving tonight " Diluc sneered at his brother before returning to his cup of tea in which he found quite refreshing

" Ms Ningguang you have to understand that 'lightbringer' is a treasured artefact in mondstadt-"

" i said it once and i will say it again , the qixing is not in possession of the lightbringer and never was. Now if we are done with this discussion you all can kindly see yourselves out " Ningguang said sternly in which Lisa, Amber,Kaeya and Diluc immediately stood up to leave , leaving the grandmaster of mondstadt with the tianquan of Liyue in the room

" Finally i can go back to business " Diluc sighed as he left

"Master jean the rest of us will be waiting for you outside " Amber informed her before leaving the room leaving it in deadly silence
