When looked at with a trained eye, a business's accounting records truly tell the story of the business. Using nothing but a business's "books" (accounting records), you can learn practically anything about a business. You can learn simple things such as whether it's growing or declining, healthy or in trouble. - Mike Piper

Nag-aral pa ako ng isang oras bago bumyahe pa-school. Isa lang ang subject namin ngayon and it's not a major subject. Only if this subject wasn't demanding, we could've ditched it. Kaso hindi pwede. We need that uno.

Hapon na nang matapos iyon kaya nag-aalala ako. Medyo trapik pa naman lalo na't rush hour. Sana hindi kami ma-late kina Hadwin.

"I'm so confused." Nailea hisses. She was frowning on her printed notes.

I was mindlessly looking outside the car. Ang traffic talaga sa city.

"What's so confusing about it? Expenses reduces profits, while dividends are distributions of profits." Margot retorted.

Nailea sat up straight and I think she realizes it now. "Right. Of course you'd know, heiress ka nga pala."

Umirap si Margot.

"I just can't comprehend it you know? Bakit kapag romance, kahit ilang chapter kaya kong tapusin pero dito nalulusaw utak ko? she said, exhausted.

"Malamang. Nakakadagdag sa kalandian levels mo."

She sighed. "Sana nataas din accounting levels ko."

"Tumataas naman. Kaya lang iiyak ka muna, mas maraming heartbreak dito kaysa sa lovelife mo."

Her eyebrows furrowed, kinda annoyed. "Kailangan lovelife ko lagi ang basis?"

Ang dali kasing maasar ni Nailea kaya enjoy lagi si Margot makakuha ng reaction sa kaniya. While I would just stare at her and she would be the one getting frustrated.

Sasagot dapat si Margot when her phone buzzed.

"It's my brother. Kawawa naman, nahihila sa mga business meetings."

Lumingon ako sa kanila. "Is that about the tax case?"

After a thorough investigation, their company was caught committing tax evasion. Ang alam ko, they assured to pay the penalties naman. I also heard na they're somewhat struggling with money, which is weird, because they have so many big investments.

"Oh that? Every company commits tax avoidance. It's the agency's call whether we've gone too far. After all, the government don't want to get robbed off their cut." she said, nonchalant.

Nailea giggled. "Gago."

"Then why is he summoned?" I asked again, out of curiosity.

"They're starting to implement things now. It's only the start. I'm probably gonna be called as well. Kuya will handle the expansion while I hadle the new business, I think."

"Kaloka, andami niyo nang business ha. Peak oligarch lang?" Nailea retorted.

Margot rolled her eyes. "We cut off things that becomes outdated naman. Plus we don't monoploize. I think Ambrosia Empires still has that claim."

"Sabagay. But I'm really impressed na depsite old money kayo, hindi kayo nag-disappear."

She smiled vainly. "Papa is an ambitious genius. Though I hate how controlling he is, he's definitely the smartest descendant. He realizes that prolonged business life stems from finding news ways to earn revenue. Kapag nag-stay ka lang sa isang market kung saan palaki ng palaki ang kompetisyon, you'll be eaten and will become irrelevant."
