Once Lexi and I make it to McKay's house, we looked around for a place to park for about 5 minutes. Finally, after what felt like forever, we found a parking spot. This only made me more nervous because now I could see that the party was going to be especially big this year. I just get anxious when there are this many people. Like if you make one mistake EVERYONE will see, which just makes it that much more embarrassing.
"Wow, there's a lot of people here," Lexi notes.
"Yeah tell me about it, we're gonna be lucky if the cops don't get called on us for all of the noise," I remarked. Lexi could see it in my face that I was worried.
"We'll be fine Brina. I mean even if the cops did come, it's not like they're going to care about us, we're just two of the hundreds of people here. They'll kick us out and we'll go home and laugh about it. McKay will be the one to get in trouble," Lexi says in hopes of comforting me.
"I know. I just worry that's all," I respond in an attempt to brush it off.
We finally make it to the house after walking about a block. Just walking through the front yard we see people completely wasted, making out, or both. And the sad part is that the party only started like 45 minutes ago.
When we got there, I noticed there were a lot more people coming in all at once. They probably had the same idea as us and didn't want to be lame by coming right when it started. When you think about it though, it's really just kind of stupid. I mean who does everybody think they are? Some kind of celebrity that's too cool for even the biggest party of the year?
Lexi and I eventually go through the front door and are practically knocked over by all the noise. The loud party music combined with all of the talking and screaming is violently loud, to say the least. I have to yell just so Lexi can hear me.
"Why don't we go find Maddy and Cassie or something?" I belted.
"Yeah sure, let's go this way first," she suggests motioning towards the living room area, which has been made into a temporary dance floor. We walk over but don't see any of our friends. I peer outside and notice Rue sitting on a couch. I'm not really sure if I should say something to Lexi or not. We never did talk about her visit earlier. I decide not to mention it, assuming that Lexi wouldn't want to talk with her anyway. But I guess it doesn't matter though, because less than a second later Lexi notices her as well.
"Oh, there's Rue. Should we go say hi?" Lexi asks.
"I don't know. Do you want to?" I answer.
"I guess," she says unsure of herself. We walk outside through the sliding glass door. Rue sees us immediately.
"Oh hey guys. How are you?" she says elongating the word "you." She's clearly high.
"We're good. I can see you didn't waste anytime at this party," Lexi responds, referring to how quickly she got wasted since she's been at the party.
"Haha, yeah well I have to make up for all that lost time in rehab," Rue joked. I honestly don't understand why Leslie allows Rue to go out when she is a drug addict. Even if she tells her she's doing something else, it's still never a good idea to trust someone like her. Then again, I suppose she is "passing" all of her drug tests. So why would her mom think she is using again?
"Rue, are you so sure being at a party is really the best idea for you right now. I mean think about your mom and Gia. Can't you at least make an effort to do better... for them... for us?" I say motioning to me and Lexi.
"I have no intention of staying sober. And I really don't need you bitching at me about it right now. I get it enough from my mom," Rue hissed. I notice Lexi getting upset next to me.
