The next few days went by really fast. It's Friday, and I have been dreading this football game the whole week. Thank God I convinced Lexi to go to the game with me though. But I know how important it is to Nate so I make sure not to complain about it. Things with Nate have been... good. He's just been very distant lately. Every time I'm around him he is sweet and nice. I just can't help but feel like he's hiding something from me. He's constantly on his phone and always seems to have something else going on in his head. Like he's always making sure to be one step ahead of things if that makes sense.
On a different note, Jules has been obsessed with this guy she's been talking to on some dating app. I've never personally understood the appeal of dating apps. I feel like they're just weird and untrustworthy. I mean, you never know what kind of creeps you could be talking to on there.
While we are at the lunch table she starts to talk about him. I haven't talked to Jules about him at all. I've only heard Rue complaining about the whole thing. I don't mean to get in Rue's business, but I'm pretty sure she likes Jules. I've noticed that she seems to be getting better with her sobriety. She slips up sometimes, but I can tell that she's trying. Which is more than she was doing before Jules moved here. It's nice though, Rue needs something else to focus on in her life, so she can stay clean.
"Tyler's just the sweetest guy I've ever talked to. I know we haven't met in person, but I can tell he's really authentic. You don't just make that shit up. And not that it should matter since he has a good personality, but he has the biggest dick ever," she says in a hushed voice. Rue rolls her eyes.
"I'm serious you guys! Here look if you don't believe me," she says shoving the phone at Rue and me.
Before I even have a chance to protest, there's a giant dick pic right in my line of vision. I mean I guess it was pretty big, but I really haven't seen that many in my life to compare it to.
"Okay, so his penis is the size of an Evian bottle. Well, the lighting is nice. Uhh, his room looks clean, looks well-groomed, okay yeah I'm beginning to understand the appeal," Rue says very unenthusiastically.
Yet one more reason to support my theory of Rue liking Jules. She seemed jealous and unsupportive of her friend's newfound happiness, which is a telltale sign of being in the friend zone. I don't say anything because I don't know how I feel about the whole thing until she meets him. But Lexi and Jules giggle over all of the other pictures he must have sent.
"But here's the thing, I sent him a few pics from the school bathroom because he asked me to," Jules starts to say.
"Wait like nudes?" Rue cuts her off.
"I can't talk about it, but I need some help," Jules says.
"Yeah sure, what is it?" Rue says.
"I want like good professional nudes. Like classy but not too arty, like I took them with very little thought or effort but could also be in fucking MoMA," Jules says.
"Yeah, it's like easy. Whatever," Rue answers trying way too hard to be cool.
"Wait, are you sure about this Jules? Can't you get into a ton of trouble for sending nudes?" I add.
"Well, technically you can, but no one ever actually gets caught for that stuff unless someone reports it," Jules answers.
"I don't know, I think you should wait until you meet him to send him anything like that," I suggest.
"Well, it's too late now. The damage is already done," Jules says.
The bell rings and everyone scatters to class. I just feel like Jules is making a big mistake with all of this. I'm getting that feeling in the pit of my stomach that you get when something just feels off.
