Prologue 3: Todoroki's Strings

Todoroki's P.O.V.
I am Shoto Todoroki. I have a beautiful girlfriend. I guess my quirk is cool? I don't really know. I think that I want to become the number one hero? I mean, I would be fine with just being in the top 5 or 10. Its really my dad that wants me to be number 1. I'm the strongest one in my class just by using my ice. I know that sounds like ego talking, but truth is that I don't have a big ego. I know there are people that are stronger than me. I just think I'm the strongest in this class. Uh...I have two Strings of Destiny and both of them are red. I don't get why they are red. I'm not gay. I don't like guys. I know who both of my strings belong to. Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugou. And surprise surprise!! Both of my strings turned purple when they connected to those two. I also know that both of their strings are connected to me. I feel guilty.

The string on my right wrist connected to Midoriya. It was about two months ago. I walked into the boys' bathroom and I saw him holding a pair if scissors near his wrist. I thought he was trying to kill himself but he explained to me that he had a black string. I was able to convince him not to cut it off and said some nice words to him. But those nice words ended up triggering my string. My string connected to Midoriya and for some odd reason, my face turned a bit pink. I was caught off guard and I saw that he was looking at gis wrist too. And then he looked up at me and smiled. That's when I got scared. All I could do was put on a fake smile and walk away.

Bakugou was a bit different. There wasn't no romantic moment that activated my string. My left string connected to his during a fight. He waa arguing with Midoriya that day and I was just sitting by watching. I thought Midoriya could handle Bakugou's crudeness, but I guess not. I saw Midoriya run away crying and all of a sudden I felt this rage overpower me. I got up out of my seat and stopped Bakugou from going after Midoriya. I punched him and he looked surprised. Then he punched me back. Our fight escalated and our quirks got involved. I was surprised that no teachers came yet. We were both beaten up pretty bad. Bakugou was sitting on the ground and I was standing up. He was about to get up and ran over to him and knocked him back down. I sat down on top of him and he was laying on his back while kicking and slapping me with no control over himself. I was yelling at him for no reason honestly. For some reason I started crying. I was looking at the damage I did to his body and face and was...crying over it? I didn't want to hurt him but I didn't think it was something to cry over. I saw him take a glance at his wrist and there was relief written in his face. Then after a second he just started laughing. And he laid his head down and stopped hitting me. At that moment I was a bit confused. Then my string connected to his and immediately turned purple. That's when I got why he was laughing. His string must've connected to me. I started laughing two and got off of him. I then laid down next to him and we continued laughing. Then I don't remember anything else because I probably fell asleep.

Today Momo was acting weird. She kept looking like she wanted to tell me something but nothing was coming out. I was a little concerned and I think I knew what she wanted to tell me.

"Momo, I know you have something on your mind. You want to talk after class?" I asked.

She hesitantly nodded.

"Yes, please," she replied.

I could feel my nerves getting worse. I looked back at the the board and started to jot down what Mr. Aizawa was writing. I could feel that whatever she was about to tell me was going to be bad.
