Jonah's pov

I was sitting in the living room, thinking about all the ways I could help Daniel to deal with this situation with his family. It's not an easy task to solve. In moments like this, I'm actually happy that I'm not in touch with my family. I know it's not right, but what can I say? I'm happy like this cause I have Daniel. He is my family now and I can rely on him. He's always here for me when I need him and he loves me. I can't say that about my family. But there are times I would turn back time and do everything otherwise. So I would be still a part of my fam and many things would be different now. With Daniel's situation it's hard. His mom doesn't wanna accept him, but on the other hand, she's still trying to get his attention and stay in touch with him, no matter what happened. I mean I guess that's what she's trying to do.

It came across my mind that maybe I could call his mom and discuss some things for Dani, but he wouldn't agree with that and anyways, it's none of my business either way. Also I said before, that this can't be discussed by a phone call, but if Daniel is in a shape like this, then it's time for plan B.

After some time spent with thinking, I decided to check on Daniel cause it's been an hour and a half almost since I left him alone in the bedroom, so he could take a nap or at least relax.

I stood up from the couch and headed into the hallway, towards the bedroom door. When I reached it, I slowly and carefully opened it and looked inside, checking if he's awake or not. He noticed me and smiled at me, so I immediately knew he's not sleeping. I responded the smile and walked in, going closer to the bed and sat down when I reached it.

"Everything okay?" I asked still smiling and took his hand.

"Yeah, totally." he replied. "Come join me." he added with puppy eyes. I couldn't resist.

I layed down next to him and put my hand on his face, caressing it with my thumb. Then I leaned closer and connected our lips, kissing him for a long time. When we pulled away, I pressed my forehead to his and closed my eyes, simply enjoying his closeness. He cuddled up to me even more and I felt better than ever. All I need for my happiness is him. Nothing and no one else.

"How was your rest?" I asked and we made eye contact.

"Well..I wasn't able to relax for a long time..but then I thought of you and..suddenly all my worries disappeared." he replied with a smile and it was so cute, that it made me smile as well.

"Aww, you're so sweet." I said and pecked his lips. "I don't know then if you wanna hear what I thought of. I mean maybe I have a usable idea." I added.

"Well, if it's a good idea, then of course I wanna hear it. I mean, if we are even thinking about the same thing." he said.

"I guess we are. It's just that a crazy idea crossed my mind as I was sitting in the living room." I started.

"What do you mean crazy?" he asked curiously, so I continued.

"That..I could call your mom instead of you and discuss some things with her...if you agree of course." I said somewhat scared of his reaction. I mean it's seriously not my job and also his mom most likely hates me by now.

"Okay, this surprised me a lot, I'm not gonna lie." he said and turned on his back, watching the ceiling and thinking.

"You don't have to say anything. I know this came out of nowhere. It's just a random thought of mine." I said and he turned his head to me.

"What would you say to her? Because talking just to her would most likely not solve the whole problem if she seriously talked shit to everyone already." he replied and I thought about what would I say, and then I got it.

"Oh, I think I have the perfect speech." I said with a lot of hope.

"I'm listening to you." he responded, turning on his side again to face me.

"First I would ask her if it's true what she wrote in that text she sent you. If not, then I could tell her something about me and my family's situation as an example of her action's possible consequences. That with acting like this she just pushes you away from her. And if she says that the text is true..then I could make her tell the rest of your family the truth..that she just made it all up. And as a bonus I could say what she caused you, to put emotions in it. She's not heartless even if sometimes it looks like. I saw her kind and loving side right when I first met her. She loves you so much..and...in my opinion, she haven't told anyone anything." I finished my speech.

"It sounds way too good to be true. She can be nice I know, but..she is way too good at pretending. She can say whatever she wants and make you believe her. Which means you will have no idea if she's telling you the truth or not. That's one of the reasons I need to do this in person, so I can see her facial expressions and body language. Only like that I can at least guess if she's honest with me." he explained and I nodded.

"So..an unusable idea in the end." I said somewhat sadly, cause I finally had a bit of hope that I can help somehow. He put his hand on my face and pecked my lips.

"Hey, you tried and I'm very thankful for that and also that you wanna help me is so nice from you, but like I said before, I have to go and do this by myself..in person." he responded. "But..if you really wanna go for it and give it try..well..my phone's right there behind your back." he added and a wide smile appeared on my face.

"Really?" I asked just to make it sure. He nodded as response and the feeling of hope came back. I was happy that I can help somehow. Or at least try to help. I can't really do more I think.

Because of the reason that I wanted to help Dani as soon as possible, I wasn't wasting any time and immediately went for it. I took Daniel's phone and walked out of the bedroom, heading to the kitchen. Daniel said, meanwhile he is gonna take a shower.

I sat down on the stool by the kitchen table, looking up her number in the contacts. I found it and tapped on the call button. When it started to ring, I suddenly felt a bit nervous, so I stood up and started to walk up and down in the room. It helped tho.

"Hello? Daniel?" I heard in the phone and realized it's Daniel's phone, so of course she thought it's him. Although he would not call her now for sure.

"Hey, ma'am. It's Daniel's phone, but I'm Jonah. We met some time ago." I said, being nice and friendly before she maybe yells my head off or hangs up.

"Oh, I remember you. The roommate, who turned out to be my son's boyfriend. Haven't you two broke up?" she asked surprisingly in a pretty normal tone.

"We did, but we talked it out and recently we got back together." I replied.

"What do you want?" she asked then, still kind of in a normal tone.

"Where do I start? Umm..I'm just trying to help Daniel to solve this whole thing..I mean..he is not in the best shape since he got your text message." I started simply and prayed.

"What do you mean? It's just a message, an invitation for a family dinner. Where's the problem?" she questioned, not even mentioning the part about that girl.

"Not the dinner is the problem, but the part that includes this girl named Angi, who's supposed to be introduced there as his girlfriend. That's the problem." I said, trying to stay as calm as I can.

"I don't know what are you talking about." she stated and I couldn't believe my ears. Enough of this bullshit!

"We both know exactly what I'm talking about, so please don't waste my time with pretending you're not aware of what you wrote. That message also says that the whole family is excited to meet this girl. Is that true? Do they really believe that he has a girlfriend?" I asked and was very curious what she's gonna reply after I blew up like this. She haven't said a single word for a few long seconds.

"No." she said in the end. "They don't know anything."
