Daniel's pov

Since I got that message from my mom, it was the only thing I could think about. She's so evil. I don't get it why she needed to tell everyone about me having a girlfriend even if she already found out it was a lie. Plus me and her are invited for a family dinner this weekend. That's fucked up. Who am I supposed to bring now? Or what am I supposed to do? And anyways, I don't even know if she really told everyone that I have a girlfriend or it's just a trick to get me back to Portland. This is sick, I swear.

Whatever, I'm on my way home after work, so me and Jonah will figure out something together.

While I was at work, I tried to call my mom a couple of times like Jonah suggested, but she haven't answered none of my calls. I guess I should just reach out to my dad or one of my siblings maybe.

Like I told Jonah this morning that I'm gonna be at home around 4:30pm, I arrive at 4:24pm. See how good I am? No I'm even better than I expected. Okay enough of these childish stuff.

I walked into the apartment and closed the door behind me. Then I took off my shoes and put the backpack aside. I heard the tv was on, so I immediately headed to the living room. When I walked in I saw Jonah sitting on the couch, his head put down. He had his eyes closed. This view made my lips curve into a smile. He looked so handsome, sleeping there so peacefully.

I sat down next to him, trying to be as quiet and careful as possible to not wake him up. But of course he noticed it and slowly opened his eyes. Then he tilted his head my way, facing me. I caressed his hair as he smiled at me. Then I leaned closer and pressed my forehead to his.

"Hi." he whispered smiling and pecked my lips.

"Hi. You couldn't sleep last night?" I asked with a smirk on my face. He laughed and hugged me tightly. I laughed as well as he kissed my neck.

"Last night was special. Sleeping would be a waste of time." he said when we pulled away. He put his hand on my cheek, caressing it with his thumb. Then we kissed, both of us smiling through the kiss. "I'm happy you're finally here...at home." he added sweetly and it made me smile again.

"Aww. Did you miss me that much?" I asked.

"Yeah, of course. I couldn't wait for you to come." he replied.

"I missed you too..a lot. But on the other hand I was busy with thinking about that message I got. I even tried to call her, but she is not able to even pick up that fucking phone. I'm sorry but she really gets on my nerves...again." I said getting upset even by the thought of her and her manipulation. Jonah took my hands to try to calm me down.

"If she doesn't wanna talk through phone or talk to you in general, you can contact someone else. You could ask your dad for example, if your mom really said something to him after she flew back to Portland. About you having a relationship with someone or if that dinner is legit." he said and I agree with all of this cause I was thinking about doing the same thing.

"You just read my mind. I was actually thinking about just the same things that you listed right now." I responded and we both laughed about it.

"Well I guess I know you." he said proudly and I gave him a kiss.

"You really do. I don't even know what would I do without you. I could not handle all this shit alone." I said.

"I know you could...because you are stronger than you think. You're strong and independent. You don't need anyone to guide you. And that's one of the many reasons I look up to you, admire you and love you." he said and it left me speechless that he thinks about me this way. I hugged him tightly and hid my face into his shoulder. He immediately hugged me too, caressing my back.

"You're amazing." I said and we pulled away. "You always know what to say." I added.

"I'm just saying what's on my heart." he replied with a little smile, but actually his smile disappeared then. It scared me a bit.

"Hey..what's wrong?" I asked getting worried, what is this sudden mood change. He looked away from me, then down into his lap.

"I just remembered something." he said very mysteriously.

"May I know what?" I asked carefully.

"I just..remembered..that when I was coming back from the coffee shop...I saw...my sister." he said and it shocked me.

"Really? Where?" I questioned and he looked up.

"Near..down the street. She was walking the other way..on the other side of the street." he said and looked away again. "I wanted to at least say hi to her or...anything....but she wouldn't be happy seeing me." he added.

"Why do you think that she wouldn't be happy to see you? She wasn't the one who made you leave." I replied.

"It doesn't matter...cause if she would've cared about me, then she would've done something or at least would've reached out to me later. But no...she was there when my mom told me to pack my things and leave..and she haven't said a single word against it." he said and a single tear rolled down his face. I hugged him and he started to cry into my shoulder.

It took a few minutes until he could calm down. Poor guy. Life hasn't treated him well at all. He doesn't deserve this pain.

"Are you okay?" I asked caressing his hand.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I brought this up when you have your own problems." he said wiping his tears away with the sleeve of his hoodie.

"You listened to my problems and I listen to yours..and we find a solution together. Cause that's what lovers do for each other. You help me and I help you. We're in this together. You're not alone babe..never forget that..I'm here whenever you need me, just like you were always here for me when I needed that the most. And I mean it seriously. If there's anything that bothers you, don't mind to tell me and I promise I'm here to listen and help if I can." I said and he smiled at me weakly.

"And I'm here for you too." he responded with teary eyes.

"I know, babe."

"I love you so much." he replied and it made me smile.

"I love you too." I said and connected our lips, kissing him for a long time.
