Sora could never explain exactly why, but he's always hated one person, that being a guy named Jax. They'd make snide comments at each other, hell, if their friends weren't nearby they'd probably break out into a huge fight.
The teachers knew about this rivalry they had going on, between classes they'd be bragging about their grades on assignments, comparing everything they did with the other. Teachers put them across the room from each other to avoid conflict, once they were put even near each other an argument would break out between them.
Sora hated Jax and Jax hated Sora. Simple as that.
Sora knew this, and yet he never avoided Jax. He despised the redhead but always loved to challenge him, to rival him. It was enjoyable, despite his hatred, rivaling him was something fun. They'd always get into arguments, maybe it was the chaos that kept him coming back.
But on this specific day, the squad wasn't around, it was just them. They broke out into a psychical fight, a crowd watched them go at it, punching, kicking, and hitting each other. "That's what you get, jerk!" Sora yelled after Jax stumbled back after being punched in the chest. To be honest, Sora felt bad for hurting him like this, but that was probably pure pity. He should be satisfied with this victory.
That feeling didn't last long before Jax kicked Sora in the gut. "Oh, really now?" He replies, standing up straight while cracking his knuckles. while Sora clutches his gut in pain. "God damn it..." he grunted. He didn't look up but he knew Jax had a wide grin on his stupid face. Sora regained his composure, staying down for a moment before quickly kicking Jax back before punching him in the side.
Jax fell to the floor, sitting there a moment. "You had a perfect shot at my face, why'd you go for my side?" He questions bitterly. Sora smirked, crossing his arms, "Well, I couldn't just ruin that handsome face of yours, could I?" He flirts, seeing Jax's shocked expression before he looked away, "It's one of your best features after all."
"Shut your mouth," Jax demands, standing up while still avoiding eye contact. "Awww, is the big bad Jax embarrassed?" Sora continued to tease, winking at him, loving his flustered yet infuriated expression. "I'll kill you!" Jax yelled before running towards Sora, ready to punch him before...
"Hey! What's going on here?!"
A teacher runs over with a student who snitched on the two by her side. "We're busy," Sora states bluntly. The teacher looks at Jax, then looks back over at Sora. She sighs before grabbing their wrists. "C'mon, you're going to the nurse's office. We'll settle this with the principal when you both aren't bloody and bruised,"
Sora huffed. He wasn't even that badly hurt and knew Jax wasn't either. The nurse took forever to do anything, and Sora wasn't looking forward to spending any more time with Jax.
They walked together, bruised and a little bloody, not even sparing each other a glance. "I hate you," Sora grumbled, crossing his arms. "I hate you too," Jax replied, not adding on from that until the teacher put them in the nurse's office. "You'll have to wait a little while, the nurse takes a while to get here. Please don't kill each other while you're alone." The teacher explains before shutting the door and leaving the two in a room alone.
Sora sat in a chair and Jax sat on the bed, they sat on opposite sides of the room while avoiding any eye contact at all. Both still angry at each other. They remained quiet, the only sound in the room being the ticking clock.
They scowled at each other for a good twenty minutes. Eventually, being angry got boring. Jax laid down on the bed he sat on and stared at the ceiling, yawning. Bored, Sora began to tap his foot on the floor to the beat of a song that was stuck in his head.
"Stop," Jax demands, Sora looks over to Jax to see him equally as bored as him. "Well, we're stuck in here, what else am I supposed to do?" He asks, irritation clear in his voice. "I don't know."
Sora sighs, rubbing his temples as he tried to think of something to do. "Alright, let's talk, let's try to think of something we have in common," Sora suggests. "That sounds stupid," Jax replies, not turning his attention away from the ceiling. "Well, what else can we do, huh?!"
Jax shrugs. "Alright, I'll start," Sora began, "I like to listen to music, play video games, and I like writing music lyrics sometimes."
The redhead snorts, "Nerd," he glances over to Sora as they made eye contact for the first time in that room. "Oh c'mon! What are you into?"
"I dunno," Jax says, "I guess I like farming, cooking, occasionally hopping on a video game, and I play the electric guitar."
Sora smiles, "Neat, so, we both like video games and music, eh?"
"I guess, but it depends. What kind of music do you like?"
"Hmmm..." The blue-haired hums thoughtfully, "It's sort of hard to describe."
Jax sighs, "Sing one of your favorite songs and I'll probably figure it out from there," he suggests, earning a puzzled look from Sora. "You sure?" he checks. "Yeah, why not. Got nothing better to do."
He smiles again, thinking for a moment before clearing his throat,
"I can't say it, under the fading impression of
a 'mutilation of compulsive love!'
A seemingly magical, dreamlike
fantasy-ic story is
infecting the world!
Unpleasantly spreading!
Wait, you've never heard of such a thing, darling?
Better love, erroneous plot twists,
but isn't that just boring...?
Cut it out,
rip it out,
'A love punch to the face!'"Sora cleared his throat as Jax stared at him for a moment. "What?" He asked.
"MARETU??"
The blue-haired boy gasped, "You listen to his music too??"
"Of course I do! His music is godly!" Jax proclaims, "wasn't that his song, Darling?"
Sora's face turned red, "HUH!?" he yelled, causing Jax to rethink his words and start bellowing with laughter. "Not like that!" He exclaims, "I was talking about the song name, the song name's Darling, I wasn't calling you darling."
"Oh," Sora sighed with relief, trying to calm himself down. Jax saw this, and smirked, "Unless, you want me to call you darling." he flirts, as payback for earlier. Sora coughs and begins to laugh with Jax.
The two continue to talk about MARETU, which later moves on to Kikou, and then other topics outside of Vocaloid and music.
After a while, Sora yawns and shivers. "You okay?" Jax asked, relaxing on the bed. "Yeah, just exhausted and cold. I'll live through it, don't worry." He reassured. Jax thought for a moment. "If you wanna come over here to warm up, I won't mind. I was about to take a nap anyway."
Sora smiled, "Only if you're okay with it," he said, making sure before going over. The redhead nods, "Yep! I mean, we have socks on it's not gay," he jokes, causing Sora to chuckle. Sora gets out of the chair he sat in and wanders over to Jax's bed, diving straight in and snuggling up next to Jax.
"You're warm," he comments, yawning again. "Yeah, that's kind of what happens when you're in a bed covered in a blanket. Besides, you were sitting right under an air vent."
"Whatever," Sora dismisses, getting comfortable. "So, agree to never talk about this when we leave?" Jax asks, causing Sora to shrug.
The two sit there, half-asleep while cuddling, not really processing the fact the dude they just beat up two hours earlier was now in their arms about to sleep.
"Y'know Jax," Sora starts, "You're not so bad after all..."
