1 week later:
zoe woke up on top of kyle, who was still sleeping.

she smiled at the look of his beautiful face and kissed his lips. she layed her head back down on kyle and listened to his heart beat.

a few minutes later, kyles phone dinged, not once but three times within 3 minutes. the notifications continued, and it was only 7am so zoe was curious.

james: happy birthday dude!
faith: hbd!!
chad: happy bday!
mom: come home kyle, it's your birthday i want to see you.

at first, zoe was kinda mad that kyle didn't tell zoe about his birthday, then she felt sadness because he knew he would see his moms text and get upset.

zoe placed her lips on kyle and played with his soft hair until he woke up.

his eyes began to flutter open and zoe smiled.

"it's your birthday?" she asked, poking him.

he turned over which made zoe fall beside him and he wrapped his arms around her.

"yeah." he croaked, still half asleep.

zoe held kyles face and kissed him once more, something about him was so cute this morning.

kyles lips formed a smile as he woke up more.

"happy birthday ky." zoe said.

"hope your not too mad u didn't tell you, i'm not a huge fan of my birthday."

zoe smirked, "i still would've liked to get you something."

kyle sighed and kissed her forehead, "you don't have to."

kyles phone dinged once more and he rolled over to look at his phone.

mom: come home kyle. it's your birthday i want to see you.
mom: i never meant for it to go so far come home.

zoe knew kyle was going to or already reading his moms texts so she got up and tried to find something to distract him or make him happy.

kyle read the text messages and felt happy up until he saw his moms. he loved his mom, but he hated her so much. she hurt him.

zoe could see the mood change on his face. she crawled on top of him and kissed him, trying to distract him.

"get up. i want to take you out."

kyle smiled sadly and hugged her.

"5 more minutes?"

zoe giggled and nodded her head yes, moving to cuddle with him.

the two got ready for the day, and zoe took him out for breakfast at his favorite cafe.

although it was a little difficult, zoe ate for him. she didn't want to make him feel bad or sad on his birthday so she powered through.

kyle seemed pretty happy. he was smiling and joking around and his cute dimples could be seen.

"thank you so much. you've made my morning so great." he said, kissing her on the head as they held hand and walked to the car.

"october is a nice birthday." she said, as they got into the car, "i think i like libras even more now."

kyle laughed a little and buckled in.

"wanna go to the lake?" zoe asked.

kyle nodded yes as he turned up the music and started singing like a dork.
