"come on kyle. say bed."

kyle shook his head and smacked the cards from zoe's hands.

"just once." zoe said, holding his hands.

"ba-bed."

a smile grew on zoe's face. all kyle had been able to say for the past week was no, kyle, zoe and weird mumbles.

"good!" zoe said, picking out another card. "what about food?"

kyle shook his head no.

"your gonna have to try someday." zoe said, "please try."

"no s-stupid."

"i know your not stupid kyle." zoe said, touching his face. "it takes time."

"f-food." he mumbled, smiling at himself when he finally said it.

"see good!!"

"food." he said again, smiling.

zoe hadn't seen kyle smile in forever, and it made her so happy to see his dimples and smile again.

zoe handed him her ipad, that had learning games on it so that she could head downstairs.

"here. i'll be back soon, okay?"

kyle began tapping on the screen, and sounds came from the ipad.

zoe sighed and went downstairs.

cordelia had the girls working on different skills and testing their abilities today. zoe's mind was on kyle the whole time, worrying that'd he was upstairs breaking something or crying or hurting himself.

it was like taking care of a toddler.

"zoe!" queenie snapped. "zoe!"

zoe zoned back in.

"it's your turn."

"oh, sorry." she whispered.

zoe took her turn on moving things across the room.

after an hour or so, zoe went back upstairs to kyle. thankfully, he was still playing on the ipad, but he looked a little frustrated.

zoe sat next to him and looked

"what's the matter?" she asked, looking at the ipad.

kyle tapped on the word "book" and repeated it out loud.

"book, yes good."

kyle shook his head and threw the ipad.

zoe was shocked by the sudden outburst.

"you think-ink s-stupid." he studdered, it look a while for him to get this sentence out.

zoe sighed, and held his hand.

"i don't. i know you know these things, you just have to dig deep for them."

kyle shook his head and started quietly sobbing. he was so frustrated and wanted so badly to talk and tell her how he was feeling.

"i know." zoe said softly, hugging his crying body.

kyle tried to say what he wanted to tell her, but it just came out as muttering.

zoe moved to hold his face in her hands and kiss his lips.

"i know your mad. we can stop for a while."

kyle nodded.

they laid down in bed, and zoe placed her head on his chest. his heart was beating, and she could barley understand this.
