Dean woke up early the next day, he had a bit of a rough night, most nights he was able to fall asleep but last night his brain couldn't relax. Something was going to happen and he wasn't sure if it was good or bad, so at around 7:30 he gave up trying to sleep and got out of bed. He yawned and rubbed the tiredness from his eyes, today he was just going to lay low. Sam wouldn't be able to hang out with him and Lisa had her schedule packed for the day with work.

"What's the deal, sleep was never that hard for me to pull of, I must be getting old, " Dean said to himself as he busily got dressed. Like usual he picked out a pair of jeans, a black top and a leather jacket. To finish off the look he placed a bronze amulet around his neck. Most days he just kept it in his car, but with all the failed attempts of finding his brother he felt like he needed to wear it. This amulet was special to him, because Sammy had given this to him.

It was Christmas and their Dad was away like usual, so Dean wasn't expecting any presents. However Sam was only a three year old and thought differently. Dean had already given him something so he should give something to. Plus he looked sad and Sammy never liked it when Dean was sad.
"De you look sad, " Sammy said pointing at his brother.
"I am buddy, it's Christmas and Daddy isn't here for us, " Dean admitted.

"I don't like Daddy he is mean, you're my daddy De, " Sam said giving his brother a hug. Dean still wasn't used to Sammy thinking of him like that, but on the other hand their dad was never there. So of course Sammy got them mixed up.
"He will get better," Dean responded. But he was speaking mostly on false hope, he really missed the way his Dad used to be before his mom died.

Sam interrupted his thoughts by giving him something inside a box. "What's this? " Dean asked as he took it.
"It's for you, this nice man helped me find it," Sam explained. Dean was happy that Sam loved him enough to do that but he didn't want his brother talking to strangers.
"Thank you Sam, but next time don't talk to strangers, " Dean said to him as opened the tiny box. Inside there was a bronze amulet, Dean was beyond words when he saw it.
"De do you like it? " Sam asked hopefully.
"I love it, thank you Sammy, " Dean responded.

Dean shock his head as the memory ended, and focused on finishing getting ready for the day. Minutes later he was downstairs relaxing with some breakfast and coffee when the news caught his attention.
"Breaking news last night a massive creature attacked the city's main containment center, " Dean was intrigued by this information and turned up the volume on the television.

"Police are uncertain what kind of creature attacked, but the event allowed serval prisoners to escape, " the picture on the screen changed from the reporter to a list of names that had escaped. Dean almost fainted when he saw his birth father's name appear on the screen. It had been so long since the man had even crossed his mind and after all these years he had grown to hate the man. So seeing John Winchester's name almost gave him a panic attack.

Before he could think about for too long, his phone ringed and he didn't even check the number when he answered.
"Hello? " Dean asked unsure who was calling him.
"Is this Dean Winchester? " a male voice asked on the other line.
"Yeah that's me, " Dean responded still too shocked to think straight about his words.
"I've been trying to get in touch with you, we found your brother, " the man told him and at those words Dean nearly dropped his phone.

After a few moments of Dean listen to heart speed up and trying to steady his breathing. Dean finally forced himself to answer, either someone was messing with him or he was about to find Sammy.
"Where is he? " Dean asked eager to know the answer.
"I'm sorry son but that's not something we can dicuss over the phone, you should know in person. Come down to central park and I'll tell you, " the man said to him.
"How do I know this isn't some trick? " Dean asked wanting to be sure he wasn't being tricked.
"You don't, but I'm the only lead you've got," the man responded and before Dean could ask anymore questions the man hung up on him.
