~present day~

The rain was falling, sliding down the glass of the glass walls around his room, it felt as if the nature was grieving with Armando.

The sound of thunder reminded him of the cries of his loved ones.

The rain drops made him think back to the pain they had gone through.

He felt lost.

A knock on the door made him come back from his world of thoughts.

Matteo peeked in before entering the room.

"It's time to go brother." He said squeezing his bother's shoulder.

Armando gulped down the glass of scotch that he was holding from the past 15 minutes.

He got up, adjusted his tie and wore his black suit jacket.

"Let's go." He said to his brother, his voice barely recognisable as it was hoarse from emotions.

He left the room, leaving Matteo behind. It broke Matteo seeing his younger brother like that. Armando has not broken down yet, Matteo fears of the consequence.

Armando entered the Church, his brother following him right behind. The people were all dressed in Black and looked at the man with pity. The brothers took their seats and the mass started shortly after.

The coffins were placed on the altar. Never, ever Armando thought he would face such a day.

Prayers were being said, but Armando could not hear a single word. He eyes were fixated right in front of him. He was just sitting there expressionless.

Armando most cherished possessions were now laying lifeless under the ground.

Many people came to him, saying their condolences. Many were from the heart, while others were just for formality. He could not answer anything except for a nod.

The funeral ended and they had to head back to their house.

Matteo waited for his brother by the car. Armando came and snatched the keys from his hands.

"Go back with the others, I want to be alone." He said coldly making Matteo cringe.

When Armando saw that his brother did not bulge from there, he had to do it the other way.

"Please." He requested.

Matteo looked at Armando in uncertainty weather to leave him alone or not but he thought it would be wise to give him his space for a while.

He trusted that his brother would not do anything stupid.

"Take care, brother." He patted Armando's back before getting in the other car, leaving him alone.

Armando got in the car and started it before speeding to the main road, driving aimlessly.

After an hour or so of driving, Armando found himself at his safe place. The place that he loves but also that constantly reminded him of his pain.
