Amy and Mandy were currently in Amy's bedroom, they were chatting about anything and everything they both did over the last couple of days. Mandy shared the wonderful experience she had with Jack during his parents' absence. How he behaves like a perfect gentleman and not like a teenager, which surprised her, given the fact that Jack is more of a free-spirited person.
"I'm guessing you guys are in it for the long run," Amy asked with a smirk.
"I guess so," Mandy replied with a shy smile, covering her blush with her hands.
"You don't have to be shy with me," Amy said, removing Mandy's hands from her cheeks and winking at her, embarrassing her best friend even more.
"Enough about me. What about you?" Mandy then asked, changing the subject as she was certain Amy was going to tease her to death.
It was now Amy's turn to tell Mandy about her trip to New York for the New York Fashion Week and her very first experience at the NFL games. This got Mandy dramatically gasping.
"Oh my goodness! Don't tell me you've seen those drop-dead gorgeous football players in real life?!"
"Yeah, duh!" Amy replied, sticking out her tongue to tease her best friend.
"I hate you!" Mandy couldn't contain her sadness.
"It's not a big deal. They're not even that good-looking."
"That isn't gonna make me feel any better, so don't bother," Mandy grumbled, now paying more attention to her ice cream.
"I'll take you with me next time," Amy said, to make her best friend feel better.
"Really?! You promise?"
"I promise."
A smile lit up Mandy's face after Amy's reply. They exchanged their phones and looked at the selfies they had taken over the last couple of days.
"Um, Amy?.." Mandy began, while they were still going through the pictures.
"Yeah." Amy quietly replied.
"Are you okay?" Mandy couldn't help but ask because it was unusual for her best friend to switch off her phone, not to mention the fact that she just left the party without looking for her or even sending her a goodbye text.
She noticed the sadness in her best friend's eyes and immediately regretted asking that question. Her best friend was probably angry at her for abandoning her at the party, after promising to be by her side.
"I'm sorry for leaving you at the party, I-"
"I was almost raped," Amy said in a timid voice, too embarrassed to talk about that night.
"Oh my God! Amy, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault!" Mandy exclaimed, embracing her best friend, as Amy was close to tears.
"I shouldn't have left your side. I'm so sorry... I won't take you to any more parties, I promise."
At that statement, Amy broke down in tears, finally letting out her emotions in front of her best friend. She thought she was strong enough, but she realized that she wasn't.
"I wish I could lay my hands on that imbecile. I will teach him a lesson he'll never forget in his lifetime." Mandy said in an angry tone, muttering any curse words she could think of, earning a chuckle from Amy, who thinks that bastard John would be dead already if he heard all the curse words Mandy was throwing at him. It made her feel a bit better, knowing that her best friend had her back.
"Does Bryan know about this?" Mandy suddenly asked in a whisper. Amy nodded in reply and Mandy gasped.
"He's going to get it... That loser is going to pay for touching my best friend with his filthy hands. I'll make sure I ruin his-"
"I'm not reporting the case." Amy cut off her best friend.
"What?!" Mandy exclaimed.
"You're not being serious, are you?" She continued.
"I mean.. are you going to let that bastard get away with it?"
"At least, he didn't get what he wanted." Amy quietly replied.
"What happened to my best friend? What did he do to you?"
"I'm right here, Mandy... Have you thought of the kind of questions that will be thrown at me? Jack will get implicated as well... Besides, dealing with this on my own hasn't been easy, so I don't think I can handle it if it goes public."
All Amy said shut Mandy up. She realized how right her best friend was.
That party shouldn't have been held in the first place. The cops would call Jack's parents in an instant and tell them about the party, which would get him in trouble. She doesn't want that neither does she want her best friend to go through a mental and emotional breakdown.
"You're right, Amy. I should've thought of all these sooner, I'm sorry." Mandy eventually said, hugging her best friend once more.
"There's no need to apologize, you were only looking out for me."
"I can't believe you have your bedroom in Bryan's house!" Mandy exclaimed in surprise after the hug, trying to lighten the atmosphere.
"You're indeed a princess." She teased her best friend while going through her stuff, trying on some of Amy's shoes.
"Like you're any different," Amy replied, browsing through the TV for a movie they could watch.
"I'm taking these with me," Mandy said, showing her best friend two pairs of Gucci heels.
"Whatever."
"Yay!" She exclaimed in happiness, immediately putting them back in their box and joining Amy on the bed.
"Can we have some popcorn, please?" Mandy asked with a pout, batting her eyelashes.
Amy rolled her eyes at her best friend's childish behavior but still went ahead to get the popcorn.
