Lucas's POV

" Did you guys see Nari? " Saena came running to us, panting as she looked around frantically. This is honestly the first few times I've seen her looking up and not at her phone.

I furrowed my brows, " Nari? No, what's going on? " I asked and she ruffled her hair.

She eyed Mark, " Nothing. " Before walking off with Yido following behind her.

I looked over at Mark, " What happened? " He shrugged as we continued walking to the cafeteria.

While queuing for the food, I was gonna take my wallet out of my pocket when I realised it's empty. I would make Mark pay for me first but then we got to pay using our student card.

" Stay right here. I'm going up to take my wallet. " I told Mark and he nodded as I rushed up to my classroom.

Just as I was gonna go down the stairs, I heard someone sobbing.

Here's the thing, there's two probability.

One, there's a ghost.

Two, there's a human crying.

I bit my lips as I walked towards the sound. I furrowed my brows as I saw a figure that looks rather scary. Don't ask me why, there's a stick on the ground.

I picked up the stick and I stretched my legs far enough for me to poke the figure. I was ready to scream as she was looking up.

" Ah- Nari? " I furrowed my brows as I walked over to Nari who was sobbing her eyes out.

She was sitting on the stairs as she hid her face. I sat down beside her, " Your friends were looking for you just now. " I said and she ignored me.

" I don't know why you were crying but don't cry. " I said and she ignored me again.

I pursed my lips, " Will you tell me why you're crying? " Once again, I got ignored.

I nod as I stayed there in silence.

After about 5 minutes of hearing her sob, she finally spoke. " Do you know how it feels like to like someone who likes someone else? " She cried even harder.

Somehow, I got a feeling I know who she likes.

I took a deep breath, " Let me guess, Mark? " She started sobbing even harder.

I chuckled coldly, " Yeah, I do. I know exactly how it feels to like someone who likes someone else. " She looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

Nari blinked a few times while staring at me, " Did you take your chance? " She asked.

I shrugged, " I thought I did but apparently not. I thought she might feel something for me but I guess I'm wrong. "

She smiled slightly as she gave me a pat on the shoulder, " Don't worry about it buddy. You're not alone now because you have me. " Her swollen eyes formed an eye smile.

I smiled slightly back at her.

Little did she not know, I'm feeling this way because of her. I pushed away all the negative emotions as I stood up, " Hey, stop crying. You're ugly enough. " She looked up, glaring at me.

" For a moment I thought you're a gorilla. " She stood up, smacking my other arm. Yes, the one that's not injured.

I groaned in pain, " After hurting this arm, you bear to hurt this other arm? " She looked up at me before looking at my arm. She slowly placed her hands down by her sides.

Nari pursed her lips as we walked down the stairs together. " Why did you like the girl? " Nari suddenly asked me.

I thought for a moment, " I don't know. I guess it's just coincidental. I never thought I'd like her to be frank, she's just not my type. " I said.

She nod, " What about you? Why did you like M- " Nari quickly turned to face me as she covered my mouth with both of her hands.

She shushed me as she slowly put her hands down. I chuckled slightly, " Even if people here knows who you like, no one is going to care. Well, unless you like me because I'm popular among girls. " I smiled proudly.

Nari eyed me, " I'm sticking to Mark. "

" Mark is a great guy, that I can't deny. " I said as I placed one of my hand into my pocket. Of course, it's the not injured one.

Nari sighed, " Why must he like my best friend? "

I want to ask the same question too.

Why must you like my best friend?

Nari's POV

While walking with Lucas, we ended up walking to the cafeteria. " Don't you have class? " He shot me a sheepish smile.

" Well, technically I do but my stomach is growling and I can't just sit still so I came with Mark. " He said and instantly I started walking towards the opposite direction as fast as I could.

" Lee Nari! Lee Nari! " He screamed but I didn't stop.

I just wanted to avoid Mark at all cost.

I ended up walking back to my class where I saw Saena and Yido sitting in class while using their phone. " Lee Nari, where were you? " My teacher asked.

" Girl's problem. " I tapped my stomach and he nodded, letting me go back to my seat.

When I went back, I sat down beside Saena. The both of them turned to look at me, " What? I'm fine. " I said.

" We were not gonna ask you that. Do you know how much I wanted to slap you? The urge is real. " Yido said and Saena smacked his head.

Yido glared at her, " Hey, don't say that about my best friend, you moron. " I chuckled slightly.

Yido scoffed as he turned to look at his seat mate who probably thinks he's annoying. " Want to join our group? You have me. " Without thinking, he shook his head and I held in my laughter.

Saena nudged me, " Where were you? "

" I went to the cafeteria for food. " I said and she shook her head, not believing me.

Saena used her index finger to push my head, " Your nose is red, your eyes are red and puffy. Sure. " She said sarcastically.

I pouted, " I'm not saying it's not okay to cry. Just cry it out. " She said.

" Hey, you're saying that to someone who literally have ever rights to cry. You suck at comforting people. " Yido said.

Saena sneered, " Shut up. " Yido stuck out his tongue at her and she took a book, ready to smack him but she put it back down.

" Would you give up Mark for her? " Yido asked and she nodded without thinking.

" Of course! 100%! " I looked over at her with a smile and she ruffled my hair playfully.

Yido looked over at me, " What about you? will you give up Mark for her? " I looked over at Saena who was looking at me with expectations.

" Do you like Mark? " I asked and she was gagged as she shook her head vigorously.

I looked back at Yido.

" If Saena likes Mark, I will definitely give him up. " I smiled as I wrapped my arm around Saena's arm. I laid my head on her shoulder.

" I would do anything for my best friend. "

Literally just realised how similar the plot is to True Beauty's now but seriously T-T I didn't mean to copy any of the plot.
