Chapter Two - Phase One

At the ending of my playlist, there was a loud beep. I slid my headphones off my ears and let them rest on my neck. I used my nen ability, Puppeteer, to make my bag disappear from sight and just basically float alongside me. The wall that was there started to move down. I smiled a bit at that. A man stood there.

"Hello, I am Satotz, I'll be leading you to the second phase," he said. "If you all will do kindly follow me," he said, turning around. He started walking, but after each step, he started to increase his pace.

    I heard a faint sound of someone riding a skateboard I looked over and saw Kil. My eyes lit up and a smile came onto my face. I jumped over the crowd and landed right beside him.
"Kil!" I said happily. He looked over and flinched a bit.

"Oh, hey Ren, why are you here?" He said, looking back and forth between me and in front of us.

"Got a bit bored, so I came out to try and some fun," I said, looking down at him.

I looked up and noticed a kid. "Hey, Kil. Do you see that boy with the spiky black hair and is wearing green?" I asked. He simply nodded. "Wanna make a friend?" I asked. "I'll come with you if you're shy," I teased. He scoffed and then skated over to the boy. He then pointed back at me and the group that Kil was talking to all looked at me. I smiled friendly at them.
     I saw a card coming at my face from the corner of my eye, I sped up and the card completely missed me and my hair. Kil waved me over and I ran up to them.

"Hi, I'm Gon Freecss," the kid with the black and spiky hair said.

"Ren Shujin," I said, rubbing the top of his hair. I looked over and there were two others. One looks like a man about my age who was wearing a suit and the other had blonde almost shoulder length hair and was wearing an ancient outfit.

"Hello, Ren. I'm Kurapika ," the one in the ancient outfit had said. Then pointed to the man in the suit and said, "this is Leorio." I smiled at them. These are good people, I can tell. They all have great power they don't know it yet. I looked back in front of me.

"Wanna race?" One of the kids said.

"Hell yeah, where to?" I said. They all looked at me puzzled.

"To the light at the top of the staircase," Gon pointed. I smirking a bit.

"Okay, just tell me when," I said.

"3" Kil started.

"2" Gon said.

"1!" They both said.

     All three of us bolted up the stairs. As soon as I saw the examiner make it, I used a bit of my true speed. In about a split second I was up. They took about a minute or so to get up.

"So what do I win?" I asked with a smile. Killua looked like he wanted to kill me but I knew he wouldn't cause he loves me too much.

"Free food," Gon said, looking down at the floor.

"Aww, it's fine you guys, after we finish here, we can all get a bite to eat somewhere, my treat," they both smiled and looked so cute. I ruffled both of their hair. I giggled as they laughed a bit. God was it nice to see Kil smiling and laughing again, I thought.

   Suddenly, a man came out, claiming to be the examiner. "Don't fall for it, it's an ape," I said quiet enough that only Kil and Gon would hear me. They both nodded and looked away. Then another card came flying in my direction. I didn't even have to try to catch it. I caught it in between both my middle and pointer finger.
     I looked up to see a jester looking at me, smirking. Okay I need to avoid that man at all costs. I flung the card back at him. It was much faster than he thought it would've been. I smirked back, then looked back at the examiner who was eyeing both me and the jester from him throwing the card at the ape, me, and himself. But he was eyeing me in confusion by the way I threw it back.

     Satotz said that if the jester threw another card at him, he would be disqualified, yet another time. I scoffed at the line, but it was quiet enough to not drag any attention towards me. Satotz then included that we would travel through this forest which is crawling with predators. I smirked cause I didn't like killing anything or anyone unless it was a good reason... or they annoyed the hell out of me. Which was still a pretty good reason in my book. 
        We started running again. I was following Gon and Kil when a frog swallowed them. I wrapped my nen string around the frog and made it throw them both back up. I made it leap away then released it from my control. I felt eyes on me. Jester, I smiled in his direction and waved. Then turned back around to see Kil and Gon on the floor. I helped them up and we all started running again, well I was more like jogging.
       Soon the Jester's presence was hidden. Smart. We all stopped dead in our tracks. We saw Leorio going up against the Jester. "I'll go look for Kurapika," Kil said, I nodded. I looked over at Gon who was missing. I looked on the other side of me and realized he had to be somewhere else. I looked ahead and saw the Jester holding him up by the throat. Shit.
      I sprung out from behind the bush I was hiding behind. I disappeared then reappeared behind him and kicked the back of his knee with enough Ko to make it hurt for a bit, maybe 5 minutes. Gon got out of his grasp and started catching his breath. "Gon, go help Leorio to the second phase. I got this," I commanded. Gon nodded and picked up the passed out Leorio and they walked out of distance.

       Chuckling started to erupt from the Jester who was on his knees. "You sound so confident, yet you could've already killed me," he said, looking back at me.

"I don't kill unless there is a reason, or they just annoy me or piss me off to a point," I said as cold as ice and a glare that was just as cold.

"So, are you going to stay on the floor or will we get to the finish the first phase?" I asked impatiently.

"We~?" He asked.
"God, I should've knocked you out, well, too late now I guess. Anyways, you can tag along with me for the moment, but I don't really like the way your eyes stare at things you want. Especially my baby brother," I said, walking away a  bit.
"Baby brother~? You don't even look like you fit into any of their families. Plus you don't possess either of their last names~" he said. I rolled my eyes in return.

"I'm adopted, now are you coming or not?" I asked, looking back at him. He got off the ground. I smiled a bit. I knew he wanted to tag along, plus this is all the time I need to attach on string to him so that I can track him. I smirked on the inside.

"My leg still hurts," he whined.

"The pain should go away in about 5ish minutes," I said looking up at him. "So, suck it up buttercup," I said in a sort of cheerful way. I started to skip, but someone grabbed my arm that made me stop in place.

"Y'know.. that was supposed to make you fly into my chest, but you're still standing where you are," the Jester said, I knew he was licking his lips.

"What is it, clown?" I said through gritted teeth.

"I'm a magician, but the name is Hisoka... how old are you dear~?" He asked.

"Bitch what?" I said, looking back at him. "Ohhh, you don't want to get a case. Hmmm, gotcha, well I'll be going and you'll know sooner or later," I said, winking. God I hate myself, but I like leading a dick on, so it works.

I tied my nen strings around him without him realizing and got him to let go of me. He had a puzzled look on his face. "Bye byee," I said, walking away. When I was far enough, I let go of all strings except one, which was the one to track him down.

Once I got to the gate for the second phase I hopped into a tree and started listening to my playlist.
