Chapter 4

Joe looked at his phone laughing. This was so Kaoru. He hung up on him after he yelled shut up at him.

He could not help his comment.
Who would have thought Kaoru spoke to a woman that was not his beloved Carla. He wondered why there was a woman with him in the first place.

Joe was curious. What kind of woman would Kaoru be interested in? He only ever talked about his beloved Carla.
And back in school Kaoru had a hard time talking to girls.
Joe loved railing him up.

Kaorus expressions were the funniest.
Joe wanted to call him back immideatly but he decided to give Kaoru a bit time.

But they had to speak soon.

It was about Adam after all.

Things about that man could not wait.

Joe looked at his watch and sighed.
The call would have to wait until he closed the restaurant.

Kaoru would not come over on his own, so he had no chance to tell him in person.

Joe sighed as he put the last plate on top of the others and rotated his shoulders.

Today was stressful. Not only had he Adam on his mind constantly which made him agitated but the restaurant was a full house and one of his waiters had to leave early so he had to cook and wait.
He pushed his hair out of his face and took of to the changing room.

He undressed and got dressed in his casual outfit.
He looked at himself in the small mirror and suddenly the woman from this morning entered his mind.

He remembered her being in his arms as he pulled her off the street.

Joe stared at his hand, picturing you in his mind.
He ran his other hand trough his hair.

There were more important things for him to do then think about her.

He had to call Kaoru as fast as possible to talk about the rumors of Adam coming to S.
He slammed his locker close at the thought of that ...

Before stalking of and closing the restaurant.

He put the keys in his back pocket and grabbed his board with his other hand before grabbing his phone and dialing Kaorus number.

"took you long enough, dumb ass."

"wow, how nice you are Kaoru." he retorted.
"so, are you finally over Carla and are dating are real girl? Let me meet her!"
Joe laughed as he began skating home. He had to be careful to pay attention to the road so nothing would happen.
Some would say he was reckless for skating while being on the phone but it was nothing new for Joe.

"dating? Are you kidding me? Carla is the only one for me!"
"then why did she give you her number?"
"Don't tell me! She hit on you?!" he exclaimed laughing.
Kaoru said something but since Joe was still laughing he did hear a word.

He would have loved to see Kaorus face at that moment. The image he had in his mind was groundbreaking. He soo wanted to ne there and look at his face.

"no you baffon! She will be working for me. Like I told you sometime ago I was looking for someone to help out."
"well, still treat her at my restaurant. I'll give you a discount!" Joe wanted to meet the woman that managed to get the job at Kaorus shop.
He has been looking for someone to help out for a long time but never accepted anyone, claiming they knew nothing about real art.
It was very often Kaoru came by alone and talked his ear off about wanting help.

This woman must be one hell of an artist.
"no."
"come on!"
"is this all you called me about? If it is I am hanging up!" Kaoru barked at Joe.
"I called to talk about Adam."
"What about that bastard?"
"I've heard rumors that he will be coming to S next week."
"huh. Adam is coming to S?"
"I want to make him pay for what he did."
"you're not the only one. But are you one hundred percent sure he is showing up?"

"This could be some baseless rumor? Like the others."
"I think this blue haired kid is the reason. Adam must be interested in him." Joe exclaimed.

When he saw the news about that kid going beef against Miya he was surprised. The kid was a rookie but skated like a pro. It has not even been such a long time since the red haired kid introduced him to S.
But he had to admit the kid had true talent. Even the media was covering him... It made sense that he would attract the attention of other good skaters like Miya.

There was no mistake that Adam had him already under his radar.
He would even believe Adam settting Miya up to beef against him. Just to test if he was really worth his attention.
"You mean the kid they call Snow?" Kaoru asked.
"whoa," Joe came to an abrupt stop with his board as a car speed by the street he just wanted to cross.
"Did you fall?" Kaoru asked he let no chance pass by to critize Joes skating.

"As if," Joe took a deep breath not wanting to start a fight again.
"Back to topic,"

"There is no chance Adam will miss this kid."

"If he is beefing against the kid, there wont be much left of snow." Kaoru sounded worried for a second.
"well thanks for telling me." he added before Joe could hear rustling in the background.
"still working?" Kaoru was a workaholic. It was what made him respected in his field and enabled him to open his own shop.
Joe replied with silence, before grinning.

"You really should come to my restaurant with your new coworker, Kaoru."
"You never stop, do you?" He yelled.

"I am curious what kind of woman made you take her under your care!" He said honestly.
"You just want someone to flirt with, and I don't want her talking about you with a dreamy look in her eyes. You will just break her heart. Then I will have to deal with the aftermath because she can't work properly."

"Wow. Harsh."

"the truth hurts." was the last thing Kaoru said before he hung up.
This was so Kaoru.

Joe laughed.

He totally saw trough him.
But breaking her heart was a bit harsh.
All he did was flirt a bit with the ladies. It was not his fault they fell for him.

Joe arrived at home and wait straight to bed, tomorrow will be stressful.
It was currently the busy season for people eating out.
Joe was on his bed, his arms crossed behind his head and thought about Adam.

If Adam would really comeback it would be problematic.

Things would get hectic at S.
Something he did not want.
S was fine without Adam. He was happy he did not have to look at that bastards face.

Joe had a snarl on his face.
Think about something else Joe, he told himself.
He did not want to go to sleep thinking about Adam.

Instead he let his thoughts wander.
He made plans to try out that new dish he had in mind for the past week tomorrow if time allowed.
He wanted to variate the dishes his restaurant served.
Then he let his thoughts wander to you again.

It was weird for Joe to think about someone he just had a brief encounter with.
But there was something about you that captivated him.
Maybe it was because you were a beauty.
Maybe it was because you were so close he could feel your (H/C) hair on his face.
Maybe it was your voice or your smile.
Joe was clueless but something captivated him in a way no other woman ever had.

He ran his hand down his face and turned over.
