Chapter 20: Getting better

Crimson POV

Pain is what drove us. It's what made me who I am. Hardened me like the bastard I am. But never have I've taken this pain so willingly. I've been 2 days in bed making my Aura heal me while I get the best medical attention I can get. By that I mean a bending machine. Jokes a side, the Doctors prohibitive me of putting any more strain for a week. I had a really strong urge to jump back in. But it wasn't gonna be that easy, my crew is protecting the facility and Ruby won't leave my side.

My slumber has been a deep state of numbness. So many painkillers have taken a toll on me. Countless hours asleep. I try to open eyes.

I didn't open my eyes but I knew she was staring at me.

I know part of the reason she won't leave my side is if her urge to protect me. Although is not her fault she got kidnapped, I did took a few shots to the chest for her.

I was a little hopeless. I really wanted to get out and do something but this was not helping. My body hurt and my breathing was heavy.

But then my doors open and a female entered. She didn't had my uniform on, but I knew who she was. Her white hair, military thermal helmet and casual cloths.

She laughed and threw me as small box that landed on my chest. I screamed out of pure pain.

We started talking, but Ruby didn't wanna interfere. I told her better than to even acknowledge a try hard. Don't even humanize them.

I tried my best to open it and when I did I started laughing. Ironic...

I then took some of that BST and my pain went away. My aura even started to go in some sort of hyperdrive.

She laughed it out and turned to the door. She was about to leave but I stoped her.

She then left and I was left with a headache. I know her favor is more like a; hey!!! Let's go kill people!!! I'm bored let's fuck some noobs up!!! Babe come on let me eat that asshole!!!

I don't know why I thought of that last comment. But I know she would be bring it up.

I got up of bed and walked to my security room. I started looking around. All my weapons were in the table. I started to feel better by the minute. But I wasn't gonna start looking for a fight. I know the BTS is helping a lot but there only so much that my body can take.

I grabbed my special carbine and loaded it.

To show her the trust I have, I gave her my MKII heavy sniper.

As we were talking I got a call. I was about to hang up but I've been out too long. People would start to get suspicious. I look at it and see is from Ms.Baker. I take deep sigh and answer.

- I need a HUGE FAVOR, basically some people got their hands on some delicate paper detailing our goods for the next month...

She then hanged up, I looked at Ruby and asked;

She then thought about it but as she did I took my rifle from her arms and changed my ammo to Fullmetal jacket rounds.

I then got an email detailing where the thief's took the files to. The Diamonds security sure did their job. We had 18 people in the building. 4 guarding 2 entrance to the building in the north side and another in the East side. The other 14 were inside, they can be seen using a variety of weapons. There also could be seen all kind of stuff. Explosives, body armor, ammunition and masks. Seems like we're about to stop a Casino Heist.

She looked unease.

- they're bad guys who will kill more people in their heist...they're gonna kill at least 10 and at most around 100

She looked conflicted.

She looked a little more motivated. She did want to spend more time with me.

She smiled and was about to continue with her speech but I stoped her.

I then handed her from one of the gun lockers my stone hatchet.

She nodded and hugged me. I then hugged her back and patted her head.

My hold on Ruby tighten a little as I thought of my next move for my chess pieces.
