Chapter 3: Acceptance

Ruby's POV

It's has been a few days since Crimson took me under his wing. He taught me that the world wasn't so black and white as I thought. Manage to make a few more missions with him. We sold weapons the other day to a gang of Faunus that didn't want to join the White Fang, but the police didn't help to protect them. But weapons wasn't the only thing we did. We sold drugs, organs. Almost everything that's sold in the black market, we had it.

- Ruby, are you here yet? Said Crimson
- Almost, I'll be there in 5
- Hurry up, we only have 8 minutes before the target is in position

I then stepped in the gas and went as fast as I could towards his location. For being a good student, Crimson bought me a car. He gave me an armored Kuruma. Our target is a known warlord that needs to be eliminated. He's staying in a hotel but Crimson told me to meet him at a parking station. It had 5 floors and we were in the fifth. I park next to his car that at the moment was a turismo.

- you see the SUV?
- yes
- take out your scope
- are we gonna pop this guy?
- no, todays lesson is, the simple stuff in life is the best
- I don't follow
- we are too far away to hit him, so that means we need a rifle, but there are cameras around
- so we will get spotted

He then walked to his passenger seat a brought a bear and some cookies.

- C-Crimson...why?
- so it doesn't look weird to others

He then approached me and whispered...

Now, there's a guard behind us, hug me, take the bear and give it a compliment.

I then blushed.

- thank you Crimson!!! You're the best!!!

After that I put the stuff in the trunk and hug him again. I see the guard turning around and leaving.

- how did you know?
- I come here often, not the first time that guy has gotten suspicious of me, one time I fell asleep in the car doing a work and he came up to me
- oh, that's good to know

But then a beeping noice was heard. It was Crimson watch. We both got in his car and he brought a nano drone.

- what is that for?
- watch and learn

He brought his laptop and we had view of the target. The target started walking towards the SUV while in the company of 4 men.

- it's time

Said Crimson as soon as they got on board. The vehicle exploded. He was laughing, but I was shocked.

- How could you? What if a bystander got hurt?
- don't worry, that rarely happens

He's obviously lying. I look at him and got closer to him, to the point it gets uncomfortable, he looks at me.

- What?
- You're such a liar...

He then looked up while cackling.

- What do you want me to do?
- I like working for you, I've done more in one week than in four years at Beacon...so please...don't make me change my views on you

He then looks at me, malice in his eyes.

- You know I can't be the good guy
- BUT You don't have to be the BAD Guy!!!

I tried reasoning with him. Yes, we both have blood in our hands, but this doesn't make us bad. I've grown fondly of him. He gets off his car and looks at the city. So I follow.

- Yes life is unfair, we're working on a dangerous line...but....
- But What ?
- You just don't have to be like this

He then walks past me and gets in his car. I look at him even though his car tint is really dark. I know he's looking at me. So I just walk back at my car. And as soon as I start my engine he lowers his window.

- my place...one hour from now

He then revs and takes off. I then smile and also drive my way to the city.

Team RWBY

Team RWBY is seen in their dorm bored of their minds.

- it's been boring since Ruby took off, I miss being mad at her. Said Weiss.

- I get you...I miss my lil sis...we use to play pranks on team JNPR and now is not the same. Yang replied.

- but it's been a week...she should be arriving tomorrow or so...I'm also worried, it's been crazy lately out there, the other day two people used an armored truck to crash into an armored Atlas truck. They then proceeded to steal the cargo and everything for them the next day put all the gold in front of the PD station cover in chocolate...it's stupid...but dangerous, 4 people died.

- I get you...a guy was send to the hospital in the casino heist, people say the assailants put a double working laxative into a poor mans coffee... ( cookies for those who get it) said Blake.

- I guess we'll find out if Rubs comes tomorrow...

Ruby's POV

I just arrived at Crimson's place. I park my car in front of the lobby and walk in. Once I get to his floor I take a key he gave me and open the door. I then see him in the couch with a cup of wine. The bottle is in front of him. A few grapes, cheese, crackers and some cookies. I then walk to him and take a sit. I sirve myself some wine and take a cookie.

- So...what do you want to do? I ask.

He then twirl his cup and takes a sip.

- I want to hire you
- am I not working for you?
- yes....but temporarily not fully open contract, and that's why

He then took a piece of paper from his blazer and a pen and set them in the table next to me.

- I want you to join me and ditch Beacon, I can put your talents to good use under my company, you made 3 mil in one week.

I then look at the paper and then at him. I was surprised by this choice.

- I can offer you more money, more-
- I don't want money, I wanna do good in this world
- Ruby, we are not the good guys
- But we're not the bad guys!!!

I then see him take a deep breath and looks at me.

- Take this paper...you can come back when ever you want, no pressure.

I then nodded.

- what about the Kuruma?
- that thing? You can keep it, it's yours, your association ends tomorrow...but you can still have access to my arcade if you wish
- that's it?
- I for sure know you don't go to strip clubs, the bunker, cash and drug houses are not your thing, the facility is empty and...that's it

I giggle and respond.

- that's not what I meant, but that's fine

I then prepare myself, take a shower, pack a bag with my clothes and go to sleep. We've been sharing the same bed since we're not here that often and when we are we just slept after doing one of Lesters Heist. After an hour or so, I feel Crimson Falling in the other side of the bed tired.

- long work?
- yes, a random asshole kept interfering in a mission that was supposed to be a 15 minute one into an hour.
- I see, good night then

I then fell asleep again.

Rage mode

FUCKING 12 year old that destroys your sht with a MK II !!!!!!!!!!!!! I bullied a Fucking kid until he begged me to stop, he cost me over 100k In lost. He was low lvl and someone gave him an Mk II and he didn't know how to go to passive mode, boy did I eat his ass with the orbital canon. I had my mates at his house in case he wanted to come out. He ended up living the server.

Reader: but Xenon, was it worth it?
X: yes and no, did I had to spend 10 mill in him? No, was it fun? Yes, and since it wasn't only me, also my friends got pissed, we bully the crap out of him.
