3rd POV

-YOU OK?!

Ruby can be seen worried over Crimson. She looked at him seeing if he was injured.

-The Warehouse blew up and I blacked out, but I'm fine...
- I woke daddy up when I ran at him....

Said Astrid worried.

- And you let her be near the explosion?!
- NO! Daddy left me in the car

Crimson looked at her surprise, she was actually covering for him.

- he's been leaving me in the car on all the trips, except on sale, I learned im a great navigator!

Crimson was surprised to se she catches up quickly. Never he imagined she could think outside the box so freely with such flexibility.

- At least you're not hurt

Ruby then looked at Crimson worried.

- what happened?
- Rats. He answered.
- rats?
- rats

She quickly hold the bridge of her head nose trying to process that a few rats were capable of destroying a warehouse.

- that's fine, we only lost product, no one got hurt

Crimson then walked to her and reassure her that there was no reason to worry;

- plus is your fault she was in danger
-What?!

Ruby looked pissed.

- yeah, i told you i was gonna sell and that having her could be a problem

Ruby then remembered the conversation. She looked down feeling bad, it was cause of her Crimson had to take care of Astrid.

- but don't worry about it, she's ok!

Ruby felt better but still.

- I know...but we need to be more careful next time
- I know

Crimson's scroll started ringing and he picked it. Ruby looked mad seeing he blew her off for a call. His faced took a turn for the worst. He looked scared. Crimson cant have a moment for himself.

- CAN YOU PLEASE NOT KILL SOMEONE FOR ONE SECOND?!

Ruby quickly felt concerned for him.

- what's wrong? She whispered

Crimson looked at her and signaled to give him a second. Once he hanged his scroll he hanged his scroll he quickly took Ruby's hand and said;

- I can't say much but I need you to take Astrid and don't try to follow me!
- why? She asked.
-Trevor killed a Mistral guy while pulling a favor for me and he then tortured another one...

Ruby didn't knew what to say, she was lost, no words could explain what she felt.

- why are you working with Trevor?
- who's Trevor?

Both Crimson and Ruby looked at Astrid.

- your crazy uncle, now Ruby please Take her and go

Ruby POV

I looked at him in the eyes, he wasn't lying, so I hugged him and grabbed Astrid. As I walked with her I was scared, if Trevor managed to fuck it up so hard that even Crimson is scared, I don't want know what they will do.

- Astrid, I'm gonna need you to stay quiet, follow me, avoid everyone and if you noticed someone following us you need to tell me

She nodded and I walked to the penthouse garage. I took my car and drove to Anna's house, I know I shouldn't do this but I have to.

I go to Eclipse Towers and tried to remember her floor.

- damn it what floor was it?

I then remembered. Apartment 31, I quickly rang the bell for her apartment and she took some time to answer but she did.

- Who's this?
- Anna it's me, Ruby, can I come in?
- SURE!!! Just give me a second to get ready!

She let us in and I quickly went in the elevator and head to her floor. Once we made it to her floor I went to her door and knocked. She opened and looked a little presentable, she had a casual shirt for her home, a white shirt and tried to tie her hair as best as she could.

- It's good to have you! If you would of called I could of prepared something! Please come in!

I came in but she noticed Astrid.

- say hi Astrid
-...hi

She looked at her and Anna was confused.

- why do you have a kid?

I felt weird saying it but I said it.

- she's my kid
- What?! Since when you're a mom?!
- long story short me and Crimson adopted her
- I can tell, since both of you aren't Faunus

We then entered and sat in the living room. Anna went to her kitchen to get herself some refreshments and brought for us wine but juice for Astrid. But I felt horrible, I needed to jump straight to the point.

- I'm sorry to ask but can we stay for the night? I don't know where to go....

She looked surprised, but then angry. I think it was a mistake to ask her so sudden.

- what...did he do?
- excuse me?

I asked confused.

- DID HE KICKED YOU?!
- NO!!!
- Then why are you here with your daughter?!

I took a deep breath and tried to explain to the best of my abilities what I understood what happened.

- to my knowledge...a friend of Crims and I...made a mistake while on business...pissed the wrong people...

I tried not to think too much about it but I had to say it.

- and Crimson is probably gonna get targeted by the Mistral Mafia

She looked shocked.

- YOU CAN STAY! I'm sorry I jumped to a harsh conclusion...it most be hard as well for him, leaving everything behind to protect you guys
- I wouldn't count on him getting in that much trouble, he has his crew watching him I guess
- then why doesn't he assign them to protect you

I took a moment to analyze that question but it's too easy to answer.

- it's like guarding a Diamond, if you guard it behind a vault with a team of security, people will know it's there, but if you throw it under a rock, then no one will think a Diamond was there

Anna looked a little worried. I shouldn't had involved her in this mess.

- I'm sorry I involved you-
- Nonsense! Plus...you're my boss, if they were after you they would go after me then....I'm your secretary after all
- thank you

Anna then looked at Astrid, it was getting late and Astrid was kind of tired and sleepy.

- if you want, you guys can take my room and I'll sleep on the couch
- No

I couldn't let her do that.

- if you can take Astrid I would appreciate it, but I can't take your bed
- if you insist

I picked Astrid and followed Anna to her room. I placed Astrid in the bed and we both went back to the living room.

- so, what's the plan?

I looked at her, I wanted to say something but I didn't have one.

- I don't know
