Y/n took a deep breath in before slowly letting it out.
She could hear class 3A cheering for her, some of them in their own unique way, as she gazed out at the cameras flashing in front of all of the heroes.
Today was the Japanese Hero Billboard Chart event.
The crowds this year were more overwhelming than they were when she was eighteen and recently out of the hospital. People were screaming incoherently; others were screaming out their favorite heroes' names.
Y/n stood at the number three spot. Hawks still clung to number two, and Endeavor still stood at number one. Edgeshot was number five, Mirko was number four, Mirio Togata was number six, and Tamaki Amajiki made number seven.
Y/n could feel the distance between herself and Hawks and forced herself not to focus on it. If she did, she'd probably panic. Not to mention, Tony Stark texted her that morning to let her know that they were all watching the event from America.
Of course, Endeavor's glaring helped to distract her a little bit. Y/n could feel his fiery, cold eyes on her. She turned, meeting his with her own.
Endeavor flinched back for a moment; y/n doubted that anyone had noticed the subtle action except for herself and maybe Hawks. The frown etched into Endeavor's face deepened as he turned away from her, crossing his arms and facing the crowd.
Apparently, he's gotten a little bit better with his public image. Endeavor didn't react like a bitch when fans asked for his autograph. He didn't snarl at the other heroes as if he was above them, and he, most importantly, stopped trying to make Shoto number one.
Of course, the reasoning behind that was quite simple. Endeavor was already number one; there's no need for his son to surpass him now.
Y/n only wished that he, even as a hero, could face charges for everything that he's done. Maybe if it went public, there was a bigger chance of people getting involved.
Whatever.
Y/n glanced back at the camera for a moment, the stony look not leaving her slim face. This year, they weren't going to make the heroes say anything around the other heroes. Probably because of the stunt that Hawks pulled off a couple of years ago.
Now everyone was expected to participate in private interviews that would be recorded and published after everyone went.
After the main event, y/n wandered around, finding herself in the same room that she had last time. The room they were in when she had told Mirko that her parents were villains.
It's only been three years.
Why does it feel as if an eternity has passed since that time? Y/n just wished that All For One would've been her only actual challenge as a hero but Endeavor decided otherwise, trying to kill her off to protect his image.
"Y/n," a voice sounded at the door, causing her to start before turning around. "You made it back and didn't say anything."
"That was kind of the point," y/n glared at her previous legal guardian. "What do you want, Endeavor?"
"How did the mission go?" Endeavor tried, holding his arm for some reason. "I heard that you'd managed to take charge of the group that the Commission's Office assigned you with."
"The mission?" y/n's cold eyes lazily slid over to meet Endeavor's. "You mean the suicide mission that you'd sent me on to try and get rid of me? It was your idea in the first place; you're actually stupid if you'd thought that I wouldn't find out."
"I-" Endeavor hesitated, taking a small step backward and stiffening from the relentless voice in front of him. "I didn't want you to stay in Japan, alright? I made a mistake, it happens-"
