"Um, y/n?" Shoto asked awkwardly as he pushed the door open, trying to come in to help his older sister pack.
He saw her tangled up with Keigo, the latter still fast asleep as y/n's tired, red eyes met Shoto's heterochromatic blue and grey ones.
"Hey, Shoto," she mumbled, pulling away from Keigo gently, as to not wake him up. "Did you need something?"
"I just wanted to say something to you before you left," Shoto explained, shrugging off the fact that he just walked in on his older sister sleeping in the same bed as the number two pro hero. "Are you going to leave before noon? Fuyumi said she wanted to make lunch for you."
"I'm not actually sure when I'm leaving," she shrugged, wiping the sleep out of her eyes. "Since when does Fuyumi care whether or not I live here? I was under the impression that she hated me."
"I'm not actually sure, but Natsuo came home this morning so he could also say something to you before you left," Shoto admitted quietly, his eyes wandering back to the sleeping pro hero. "Did something happen last night? I didn't know that he was here."
"Endeavor doesn't know either," y/n sighed, also glancing over at Keigo with his bright blonde hair and closed, angular eyes. "He came over last night to say happy birthday to me, and I asked if he could stay."
"You two seem to be getting closer," Shoto stated, as if it was a fact. "Is he going to start coming into class with you to teach us?"
"I doubt it," y/n laughed softly. "Remember: he's a pro hero. I'm technically a student, so I still have to come to school either way. They only put me in the position of teacher assistant because Allmight retired and Aizawa needed help."
"Right, I forgot." Shoto's eyes glanced back to the picture of y/n and Touya, before they made their way to the broken viola on y/n's dresser, next to Keigo's visors and headphones. "Since when do you play the viola?"
"Since I was about three," y/n shrugged. "Anyways, I'll come out in a few minutes. I'm going to try and wake Hawks-senpai up and we'll both come downstairs."
"Do you think that's a good idea?"
"Not really, but I don't have any better ones. Endeavor's pissed that I'm leaving, he won't act up if Hawks-senpai is here."
"So are you going to tell him that he spent the night?"
"Might as well. What's the worst that can happen?"
"Also, I just wanted to say thank you," Shoto admitted. "Thank you for training me and teaching me to be stronger, even if I never did surpass you."
When y/n didn't respond, Shoto shrugged and started to back out the door, before his eyes unintentionally went back to the picture on y/n's nightstand. She hadn't packed anything yet, as a pile of boxes leaned on one of the walls.
He remembered how pissed off she became the last time he tried to bring up Touya, and didn't figure that it was a good idea to say anything to her about him.
"It's alright," y/n cut into his thinking, causing him to look back up at her.
"Huh?"
"It's alright," she repeated. "I'm not mad about that anymore, Shoto. I should be getting rid of the picture, but I don't want to. If you still want to talk about him, I'm not going to stop you."
"What changed?" Shoto wondered, seeing the sad, empty look in y/n's red eyes, her tangled hair covering a bit of her face as Keigo clung to her waist. "Was it because of Hawks?"
"Not at all," y/n smirked, half-heartedly. "It's just time to move on, that's all."
It wasn't Shoto's burden to bear, knowing that Touya was still out there. He didn't need to know of how many people Touya's killed after he left, and he didn't need to know that he became a villain. It's not as if it would make things any easier.
