Tobias smiled as he ruffled the thick black hair of his twin boys while they feed noisily from his beautiful Luna. He listened to the contented rumbling of the babies and sighed, stretching under the covers of their bed. He still couldn't believe the events of last night. A war had been fought, his babies had been born, Connor was killed, and the Bloodborne were no more. It both amazed and frightened him that so much life-altering things could happen in so little time. He leaned, shifting and pressing against Esmeray before laying a soft smooching kiss to her lips. "I love you."
"Love you too," Esmeray murmured tiredly. She blinked sleepily and pressed a soft kiss to the top of both Connor and Nathaniel's heads. She loved her boys so much and nothing in this world would ever change that. She still felt the after effects of last night and even though she'd went straight to sleep once they'd all arrived home, she still felt like she could sleep a week. And no matter how much sleep she got, nothing could change the fact her brother was dead. She leaned against Tobias's chest and inhaled his comforting scent. "You still have no idea what it means to me that you agreed to name out firstborn Connor."
"After what Connor did and the sacrifice he gave, why not name lil' Connor after his uncle?" Tobias kissed the side of Esmeray's face, gently stroking the twins' backs as the suckled sleepily. He still couldn't believe his best friend and beta was gone. "It's the least we could do, babe."
"I know," she breathed out softly. She bit her lip as it began to quiver and she felt the sting of tears around her eyeballs.
He hugged her up as close as possible with the twins on her chest. He knew nothing he could say would ease the pain but he could only hope his presence would bring her some form of comfort. "I hope he's just like your brother. Annoying jokes and all."
She laughed as tears slipped from her eyes, a watery smile making its way across her face and curling her lips. "Me too."
He smiled and gently kissed her tears away, softly running his fingers through her hair. He was happy he could make her smile even if it came with a few tears. His thoughts drifted back to a time when he could care less about Esmeray and what happened to her. He could help but laugh at himself for being such an angsty douche. There Esmeray was, his soulmate standing right before his eyes after years of tortuous loneliness and what did he do? He sent her back. It wasn't until quite a few days down the road that he accepted the fact Esmeray was his Luna, but not after some sly speaking of Connor. Damn, he was gonna miss that guy.
"What has you laughing?" She asked softly, her voice reflecting how drained she really was.
He chuckled and kissed her again softly. "Just about how much of a dumbass I was when you first walked into my life."
"Oh so you wasn't always a dumbass?" She giggled softly.
He tickled her sides and nipped her neck playfully. "Better watch it lil' missy. You're talking to your alpha."
"As if I care," she teased softly, a happy smile on her lips. She gently removed the sleeping babies from her chest with Tobias's help and eased them into their cradle.
"Mmm you better," he teasingly retorted as they settled back into bed. He kissed up her neck softly as he pressed against her.
She hummed and titled her head, enjoying his warmth and closeness. "And if I don't?"
"Then I might have to start extending our family," he answered in a tone, kissing her Luna mark and earning a slight gasp.
"You wouldn't dare," she returned as she shifted and cuddled close, her body fully pressing into his.
He turned his attention to her lips, kissing them slowly and heatedly before he pulled back just enough their lips still touched. "Don't tempt me, Luna."
"Don't mind if I do, alpha," she murmurs against his lips.
Tobias shifted and pinned her under him, kissing her once again as his hands gently caressed her body. If there was one thing he was certain of, it was the fact he was madly in love with the female beneath him and he wanted nothing more than to give her everything she ever wanted and more.
