Alexa's Pov
It's Monday morning and I leave the house and walk downstairs. I go into the pantry to find some good when I stumble across a box hidden in the back of a cupboard. I grab it and I open it. Inside there is a huge book. I see the time on my phone and I shove the book into my bag and run outside just as Asher pulls up.

"Hey Lex." he says pushing the door open so I can hop in.

"Hey Ash." I say buckling myself in and pulling the book out of my bag.

"What's that?" he asks as we drive off.

"I don't know I found it this morning in a box." I say as I open it up.

I look at the first page and I freeze up. It's a photo of my mom. It's been so long since I'd seen her face it was unrecognisable at first.

"What's wrong?" Asher asks and I don't even realise that I'm tearing up.

"It's my mom." I say flicking through the book and seeing more and more photos of her. Each and everyone she is smiling in them.

"Oh I'm sorry Alexa." he says patting my thigh as I sniffle.

"I've not seen her face in so long. I'd forgotten what she looked like." I say wiping my eyes as I shove the book back into my bag.

"You not gonna keep looking at it?" he asks.

I shake my head as we pull up outside the school.

"I've got to meet Layla and Olivia inside but I'll see you in Maths." I say running out of the car.

Asher's Pov
As I watch Alexa go into the school I see a car pull up next to me. I look inside and its Jordan and that Ripley girl. I see her lean in and peck his lips and he looks hesitant before allowing it. I scoff. And he gave me shit for fooling with his sister when we were both wasted.

I hop out of my car and walk inside. I see Alexa's smiling face and I realise I can't tell her what I just saw because it would crush her.

"Ash hey." she says again walking past me with Layla and Olivia.

"Hi girls." I say as they pass by.

After school
"Alright alright listen up." Coach shouts.

"Look I know I've been riding you hard this past week and I'm proud of you all stepping up. Malibu has been talking smack. But if you play like this they ain't gonna know what hit them." Coach says.

"Y'all get out of here and have fun at the dance on Friday night. Oh and one more thing, keep it classy. No drinking or staying up all night. I need everyone firing on all cylinders we've got a big game on Saturday." Coach says before leaving.

Later at work
"Lexi. Take a break you've been working since you've got here." Jordan says.

" I can't we're busy today." I say walking past them with a pizza box and I hand it to the couple. The girl opens it up and it's a hoco proposal. Spencer walks past and fake vomits to me. I laugh and walk back to the guys.

"What to corny for you?" Asher asks.

"Nah y'all just take homecoming really seriously though." Spencer says.

"Personally I think it's cute this is my first high school dance I'm going to." I say.

"What you didn't have them at your old school?" JJ asks.

"No we did but I didn't go to it." I say.

"Why not?" Jordan asks.
