Edges and hems

Posed upon the edge of a dry river bed
Gazing at the horizon southeast
If my hands grew larger
Amongst this sea of foragers
I would blow a kiss into the clouds

Growing distant from a better age
When the full face of life remained far away
Laser focus
Zoom in vision
But the closer you get
The further it slips away

Soon your body will start eating the fat off your cheeks
And you'll run your hands through the hills and valleys
Over a cup of coffee
In the morning
A young woman with her back to your driveway
