Three months went by faster than the blink of an eye, with the wedding preparations, classes, exam study, and my secret rendezvous with Miguel, there was not much time left. However, everything was going well, the wedding was going to be on the 14th of July but they would only go on their honeymoon in October because of my father's work, also my exams went well, so I had only one appeal exam to do on the 1st of July and I would be done, ready to.
As for my relationship with Miguel, things were better than I thought they would be; although we had to meet in secret, we did it without any problems, sometimes we had lunch in the car with Trina and Mateo, other times we went to study at my house. Almost all our dates involved studying, as we didn't have much time to waste, but the good weather brought us the opportunity to study and have picnics at the park, which was great. We didn't have those monotonous and boring relationships, besides studying, we had great conversations about many important subjects - which you know I loved to talk about - we were also very good friends and made fun of each other all the time.
On the day we were going to do our last exam of the normal season, Trina and I went up the stairs when Miguel grabbed me and took me to an empty room (that was our thing) then closed the door, pushed me against it, and kissed me.
- "What was that for?"
- "I missed you," he said smiling and kissing me again.
- "I have to ask you something", he seemed curious when I said that, "My father realized that I am seeing someone so he told me that I should bring you... to the wedding...as my date"
- "So you want me to be your partner, as your boyfriend, and go somewhere where your whole family is there", he seemed happy with the subject, but I was a little confused.
- "Well, is that what you are right?", I waited for an answer while he laughed.
- "What do you think? I thought it was obvious, but yes, I'm your boyfriend"
- "Boys are strange, we never know", he laughed a lot until I continued, "But seriously, you don't have to go if you don't want to and besides that, there will be pictures so the possibility of everyone finding out is great and yes, my whole family will be there".
- "I would love to", he smiled and looked me straight in the eye, "You don't have to worry about it, it's time for them to find out, they may not approve, but they have to respect you."
I loved the way he spoke because it meant he wouldn't be indifferent or tolerate anyone disrespecting me, even if they were his friends. We kissed, wished each other good luck, and left without being seen.
- "Look who's back ... and with a bigger smile than before", Trina said as I approached her.
- "Guess who has a date for the wedding?", I told her about our conversation and we laughed, we just glanced at Miguel because I didn't want to draw attention at that moment.

On the day of my appeal exam, I remember I was leaving college and was going to call Miguel but I had received a message. I never called him that day or the next day. I just texted him saying I needed time alone."I should talk to him ... no, I can't talk to anyone else about it" I thought to myself. The only two people I spoke to about what was going on were Gulli and Dan, they were the only ones I needed at that time.
On Monday I was walking around the house, taking care of the last details of the wedding and thinking about that message; should I answer? What would I do? What would I say? Suddenly, my thoughts drifted away when I heard someone knocking on the door.
