Yn POV

Valentine's Day comes every year and without fail...your girl is always single.

The worst part is when Valentine's Day is on a weekend because everybody is out with their significant other. So I didn't have anybody to be hanging with at all.

All my girls were boo'd up this year and for the first time, I was the only single one. Don't get me wrong, I was happy for them. They had amazing partners.

I just didn't understand if I was that unlovable that I couldn't get someone or what my deal is. I was okay being single but it also would've been nice to have someone around sometimes.

This year I tried to put myself out there. My friends told me to try shooting my shot instead of waiting for someone to come to me.

I did that.

And got rejected almost every time.

So I stopped. I know you shouldn't give up that easily but I was tired. I would talk to my guy friends and ask them what's wrong and they said they didn't know either. That I just gotta "keep lookin" or that it ain't "that bad cause they get rejected all the time too".

So now I'm just laying low in my apartment binge watching shameless.

At least watching the Gallagher's love lives fall to pieces had some entertainment to it.

I picked up my phone and saw it was vibrating with an incoming call.

"Hello?"

"Aye what's happenin?"

Drake was calling me.

"Boy I'm tryna watch my show," I laugh.

"Oh so you're not at some ten star restaurant right now with a nigga?"

I roll my eyes. "No I'm at home taking time for myself, why?"

"Cause everybody seem to be occupied today so I just assumed you must . You sound sad," he said.

"So that's why you decided to call," I roll my eyes.

"Nah cause if you're not doing anything then I'm coming over cause you not gonna be sad today," he hangs up.

Drake and I had been friends since high school and our friendship carried on since then. He had always been there for me and I appreciated having him as my friend a lot.

In a few minutes, I heard a knock on my door.

"Damn you were serious," I laugh. He had some pizza and wings in his hand and...ice cream!

"You have ice cream," I smirk.

"Dairy free too," he winks.

"You know the way to my heart don't you," I laugh.

"It seems like you're the only woman that's the case for," he laughs.

He put the food down on my dining table. "So why did you sound sad on the phone?"

"That's what you wanna talk about. Like damn can we eat first?"

"Alright fine," he shrugs. "I haven't heard from you all week what's up?"

"Nothing really, I just been busy man," I shrug. "Work has been hectic."

"Yeah I bet," he says. "But you're a good attorney so if I ever get in trouble I know who to call."

"I will not defend your ass in court even if you paid me 100k," I bite into my pizza.

"Mhmm," he laughs. "So are you gonna tell me what else is up?"
