"basketball tryouts, you ready mahlia?" i asked slipping my black compression shirt on, "ready as i'll ever be" she said putting her hair in a bun.

we walked out the locker room and immediately looked shocked, seeing as tho we see a bunch of fems, and hella studs.

"can i have everyones attention! today we will be doing tryouts together. i know we've never done this before but when you make the team you need to be used to the cheerleaders cheering while you play." coach taylor said.

"during practices they will be with us, there will be fun things happening during practices and games but we'll get to them on the second day of this." the cheer coach said.

"okay lets get this shit popping!" coach taylor yelled and we all laughed.

they gave us a break, for a couple minutes and we got to watch the cheer team practice their tryout cheer.

"this aint what you want, but this what you gon get they said" me and mahlia laughed, "alright! 5 minute break!" she yelled and they nodded before walking away.

"i see you sy!!" we yelled and she looked over before running over to us, "you so flexible, ian know you could do that." i said and she laughed.

"lemme see that lil jump yall be doing" mahlia said, "a toe touch?" she said and i nodded.

she prepared and then jumped up, "exactly why i couldn't be a cheerleader cause how you do that." mahlia said making us laugh.

"ard lets go!! i got dinner reservations at 7 so lets get this over with by 6!" coach taylor yelled and we all got up.

"i'll see yall next tuesday for the second day of tryouts, basketball players, the list for second day tryouts will be posted on the gym doors by tomorrow. cheerleaders will be right next to them understood?" coach taylor said and we all nodded before gathering our stuff to leave.

"sy're you think you did good?" i asked as all three of us were walking out the gym, "i think i did okay.." she said and i gasped.

"i saw you over there, you was cutting up." mahlia said, "exactly, don't doubt yourself you did good." i said and she nodded.

"i'll see yall on monday, rd? that means come to school sy're." i said and she laughed before nodding again.

"bye billie" she said softly while giving me a hug, she was warm.. mad warm.

"bye sy" i said and i walked away.

billie just left, i looked at mahlia and smiled, "yall cuteee" she said and i rolled my eyes, "get onnn" i said as we started walking to our cars.

"tryn go to the mall tomorrow wit me and some of my friends?" she asked and i nodded, "text me ard?" i said and she nodded before getting in her car.

i got in mine before starting it and pulling out, i just wanna go home and sleep.

i finally pulled into the garage and got out of my car, "damn its cold!!" i said and unlocked the door before walking in.

my 2 puppies prince and celeste came running down the stairs, "hi babies i missed you" i said and walked upstairs as they followed me.

i got into my room and set my stuff down before going into my bathroom and starting a shower.

after i got out i decided to doordash some food, i decided on wendys and waited for it to arrive, once it did i ate and turned on my tv snuggling in my bed.

my phone buzzed a few times but i was too tired to check, and i started dozing off.

i sat in my bed eating some of my french toast while watching tv, my phone starting buzzing on my nightstand and i picked it up.

"hello?" i said seeing that it was a call from mahlia, "hey pretty, what you eating?" she asked brushing her hair out.

"french toast, eggs and bacon" i said and she nodded, "don't eat to much, we meeting at 12:30" she said and i nodded looking back at the phone.

"what mall?" i asked getting up and setting my plate down, "armed mills.. what you wearing?" she asked and i shrugged.

"probably sum chill.." i said and she nodded, "aye this my momma ima see you at 12 ight?" she said and i nodded.

finally its time to pick out my outfit, and honestly ion know what to wear.

i decided on some black drawstring shorts, a white cropped tank top, a pink letterman jacket.

"shoes.. shoes.." i said looking through my shoes, "forces it is.." i said and put some white socks on then my forces.

"nalani!!" i yelled and walked into her room, "yes lani what?" she said bouncing my niece in her arms.

"hi ziara" i said and she gave me a gummy smile, "i'm about to leave to go out, um... do you need anything while im out?" i asked and she shook her head.

"drive safely!" she said as i was walking out of her room, "and will!" i yelled back.

i walked out of my house and got in my car making sure that the front door was locked before putting my seatbelt on.

i pulled up to the mall and parked before locking my door and walking in, i walked around for a bit before spotting mahlias long hair.

"mahlia?" i asked just to be sure and she turned around, "heey! we was waiting for you" she said giving me a hug.

"y'all this sy're, she new to monroe." she said and they nodded, "sy're, this mulan, jordyn, jamie and saniya" she said and i waved.

"hey sy're, your name is mad pretty" mulan said, "thank you!" i said cheesing. "you liking monroe so far?" jordyn asked as we started walking around.

"hell yeah, yall cheer team fire" i said laughing, "coach ari gon get yall right every time" jamie said with a laugh.

"where yall tryna go first?" saniya asked, completely changing the subject. "yall wanna try forever 21 or get some sneakers?" mulan asked and we agreed on sneakers.

"now sy're, you holding 3 bags with 2 pairs in each." mulan said and i looked at her, "what.. take me in a shoe store and i'm not gon want nothing else" i said.

"unt uh, ion like these shorts mama" i hward a voice behind me say, i turned around and saw purplish black hair.
