" So... You are still in touch with that girl?"

Ignoring the question coming from his mum, Olivier put his shoes on and opened the door.

" I love you, mum, but this is none of your business. See you later."

Claire walked up to her son, but he was already outside. She couldn't believe his actions. She taught him better, she thought.

Going back inside the living room, the woman sat on the sofa and burried her head in her hands, releasing a sigh of annoyance.

"Aurora. Tell me what's going on here, please."

The girl, who was watching the scene from afar, was caught off guard and didn't say anything at first. Her mother looked defeated and she definitely wanted to help her. She also wanted her brother to be happy.

What was her best possible move now?

"It all my fault isn't it?"

Carefully, Rory join her mum on the couch. The older woman rested her head on her daughters shoulder.

All that was going through her mind was how much she messed up. Claire was scared her actions will end her relationship with her son, if it wasn't already been ended. Why she did all of that? Why she just couldn't be happy for him? Why she had to ruin what he had?

" Please Aurora. For how long this have been going on?"

" They met at the Euro last year."

So it happened after he filed for a divorce. Athena wasn't the reason. Olivier made the decision by himself. He wasn't living the life Claire had imagined for him.

" Okay. About this invitation or whatever it is. Tina is getting married?"

" I guess..."

" You guess or you know Aurora?"

The wedding wasn't something expected for both her and her brother. They haven't heard of her for years and that's the first thing they learn. She moved on.

" Apparently mum..."

" How did your brother reacted to the news?"

When the news reached Olivier, he prayed it was some other girl named Athena. Some other girl that he didn't know about.

He was absolutely heartbroken and it was painful to watch the disappointment written on his face, seeing his ex girlfriend standing next to his teammate.

The footballer knew one thing for sure. After processing the situation, he promised himself he would do everything he can to be part of her life again. Even if he was only her friend. It would make him feel a bit better.

" Olivier still hasn't moved on and I am the reason he is away from the girl he loves, Rory. Why I was so blind?"

A few silent moments passed before Claire jumped from her seat, enlightened by a thought. She had an idea in mind and she would need help.

" Okay. Aurora get up. If we want our plan to be successful we have work to do."

Watching her mother walk around the small area, trying to find her phone left the young girl confused. What's the plan she talks about? A second ago she was on the verge of crying and now she has a plan.

" We have only a few months to get Athena and Oli back together. Do you know anyone that can help us?"

A smirk played on Aurora's lips. She knew exactly the people that can help.

Her only worry was Antoine. She likes the guy and wants him to be happy. But her brother's feelings were more important.

'Please forgive me for what I am about to do Anto' was what he hope for.

" Lets go and do it then, mum."

...

It is the day of my birthday. Or more like the last few hours of my birthday.

It was a colder day, unlikely for the warmth of mid April. But one thing I learned in my life is that is always cold on my birthday.

Antoine told me to dress warm and wait for him to come pick me up after trainings. Looks like he had planned something. To be honest, for a moment I though he forgot about my birthday and I had my doubts about him.

But he proved me wrong. He took me to the beach, where he set up a small picking on the sand. Tons of small candles were placed around and I saw a cake in the middle of all, with a basket full of chocolates and fruits.

" Happy birthday, Love."

He hugged me from behind and kissed the side of my head, resting his on mine. I couldn't stop looking at the surprise he had prepared for me until he grabbed my hand and made me sit in the beach towel.

He poured a glass of champagne, have a mentioned how much I love champagne, he definitely gets bonus points for that.

Towards the end of a night we spent talking about random stuff and watching the Notebook, we decided to have a walk by the beach, feeling the waves crash in the sand.

It was probably the perfect night so far.

Suddenly Antoine stopped and handed me a small red velvet box. Inside of it I saw a dainty gold necklace with my name on it.

" It isn't something big, but I think you will like it, Attie."

I placed a soft kiss on his lips. The way it sparkles in the moonlight had my eyes glued on it. Antoine took it from my hands and clasps it on my neck.

" I love it. Thank you."

It was beautiful. Really beautiful. But I already have almost the same one. One I got years ago, but from a very different person.
