Fire Phoenix - Reki x Reader

~Reki's POV:~
After I'd gone home, I couldn't help but trying to figure out who Fire Phoenix was. I had very few details on them. But I'm close to cracking it... I think.

I didn't have much to go on, but I was getting there. I will find out who they are. I lay on my bed. Thinking about Fire Phoenix. I want to know who she is. But how?

I need to teach Langa how to skateboard as well. I settled on asking Y/N at school for help on that. She's an alright skateboarder. I haven't really seen her skateboard properly though.

~Your POV:~
I lay on my bed. Hoping Reki doesn't work out that I'm Fire Phoenix. Trying to think of if I slipped up or not. Gladly I don't think I did. I'm sure of it. I hope. I decided that I couldn't sleep so headed out into my garden. When I moved in, I got a mini skate park built so I could skate in my garden.

I grabbed my shoes from the front of my house and put them on before heading out into my garden. I head over to my mini skate park and start skating in the deep dome. It was deep like a swimming pool so it was perfect for practicing tricks in!

After a while of practicing, I headed back inside my house and decided I should at least try to get some sleep. Especially if I had school in a couple hours. I head back inside my house and lock the door. I place my skateboard and shoes near my front door and head off to bed.

I soon arrive at my room and open my bedroom door before closing it again. I change back into my pyjamas and climb into bed, falling asleep immediately.

It was now the morning. I climbed out of my bed and put my school uniform on. Once I'd done that, I headed to my kitchen and made myself something to eat for lunch. Something small though since I didn't really know what to do. I opted on making onigiri for myself and just heading off to school with that. Yeah. That should be good.

I finished packing up the bento and grabbed my bag, heading off to school. Completely forgetting about the beef between me - I mean Fire Phoenix and Reki. I smirk at the thought of no one knowing who I really am. No one to tell me off for sneaking out late at night. Or coming back injured.

As I was heading for my front door, I got a notification on my phone. Someone posted the video of Fire Phoenix and Langa going against Shadow. I groan. Out loud. I didn't think people posted this sort of stuff all over the internet! I head out my front door and decided to skate to school today. I don't know why. I just did.

I make it there quite quickly and head inside, my skateboard slotted between my backpack and back. I walk in and Reki immediately waves at me. Langa turns to who Reki was waving at and saw me. Awkwardly walking over.

"I don't think we've met. I'm Langa Hasegawa." Langa says, offering his hand out for me to shake.

"Y/N L/N." I say, shaking his hand.

"Oh Y/N. you'll never believe what happened last night!" Reki beams.

"What?" I ask.

"Langa lost in a beef against Shadow and Fire Phoenix. Since Fire Phoenix won, she wants to have a beef with me! Me!" Reki says, in a whisper. Well more like a whisper shout.

"Fire Phoenix? Why are they called that?" I ask.

"I don't actually know. She doesn't look anything like a phoenix." Reki says, lost in thought.

"Maybe because she soars when she skates?" Langa adds.

"Maybe but then how do you know it's a she?" I ask.

"How they talk and the long hair. Oh and what they wear." Reki says.

"Hmm. Well I'd love to come watch again but I have stuff to do. Sorry." I say.

"Hmm. How about helping me teach Langa?" Reki asks.

"I'm sure I can help out." I say.

Then the teacher walked in and classes began. It was boring. Super boring. I wanted to be prepping for the race tonight. Even though I didn't need to. I wanted to for some reason. Maybe to show him this race does mean something to me? But then how would he know? Every time he asks me to come watch, I lie to him. One of these days I'm gonna have to reveal myself as Fire Phoenix. Maybe if someone puts it as a condition in a race I race. Oh shit Reki might do that.

I cleared my mind and focused on the lessons ahead before it was soon lunch time. Reki and Langa left, probably heading to the roof while I just stayed in the classroom. This race... for some reason... it brings back so many memories... unwanted ones at that. I snapped from my thoughts when I noticed the door open again and I saw a head of blue hair and a head of red hair.

"Y/N? Why are you eating in here?" Reki asked me.

"Oh I err... I was just... thinking." Did I stutter?!

"You okay?" Langa asks me.

So innocent.

"I'm fine. Mind if I join you guys?" I ask.

"Nah." Reki says.

"I don't mind." Langa says.

"Thanks you guys." I reply.

We head off to the roof and sit down. All three of us just looking at each other. Langa, Reki and I pull out our lunches and I notice Langa has... sandwich?! While me and Reki have bentos.

"Is that what a bento looks like?" Langa asks.

"Yeah. Want one?" I say, offering him some onigiri.

"You sure?" Langa asks to which I nod yes.

"What's in it?" Langa asks.

Jeez he really knows nothing.

"It's a rice ball with a salmon filling and this bit..." I say, pointing at the seaweed. "Is seaweed. But you don't have to eat it. I don't."

He takes one and eats it. I watch his eyes sparkle as he does as if they say he likes them.

"These are really nice." Langa says.

"Here. Reki you can have one as well." I say, passing him my bento box.

"Ah thanks Y/N." Reki says, taking an onigiri from the box.

"Mhm Langa's right. These are really nice. Who made them?" Reki asks.

"I did. This morning." I say.

"You're a good cook. Do you always cook for yourself?" Langa asks.

I look down at the bento in my hands and squeeze it slightly before composing myself and looking up at Langa to answer his question.

"Yeah. I cook for myself. Everyday. All three meals." I answer.

"What about your mum? Or dad?" Reki asks.

The bell went just after Reki asked and I stood up, still holding my bento. I put the bento in my bag and walked off, leaving them behind.

~Reki's POV:~
"Did I say something wrong?" I ask Langa.

"Maybe it's a touchy subject?" Langa replies.

"Mhm. Maybe." I say.

We then headed off to class. I wonder why she reacted that way.
