Fire Phoenix - Reki x Reader

After I left the skate shop, I headed home. I had to take the bandage off of my hand before I went out since Reki would probably figure me out anyways. He'd probably work out that I'm Fire Phoenix just by look at my hand.

I headed over to Joe's, still dressed as Fire Phoenix since I didn't want to take the mask off and risk getting seen. Besides, Joe knows Y/N and Fire Phoenix. I used to work across the road from his restaurant so I saw him all the time. Once I made it to Joe's, I headed in and sat down at the bar area.

"Fire Phoenix? What are you doing here?" Joe says.

"I was at the skate shop around the corner and thought I'd stop by." I say with a smile.

"You know Phoenix, you're friendly attitude is gonna get you in trouble someday." Joe says.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Well, for a start, you could be friendly to the wrong people. Like Shadow or Adam for example." Joe says.

"Two people I hate." I say.

"What could you possibly hold against Adam? You're too innocent to hold anything against him." Joe says.

"Shit. After 2 years I slip up. In front of you." I say.

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?" Joe says, not understanding.

I then removed the mask and look directly at Joe before putting it back on.

"Holy shit... I never would've guessed Y/N and Fire Phoenix are one in the same. You act so different to her. No wonder no one figure you out." Joe says, shocked.

"Look, keep this a secret please Joe? You are literally the only one who knows." I say.

"Wait, so not even your friends know?" Joe says.

"Nope. I think Reki could figure it out if he really tried." I say.

"Hence why I didn't have the bandage on. But my wrist is killing me. I've been acting fine all day." I say.

"Why, cos you went to get your skateboard sorted as Fire Phoenix?" Joe asks.

"Mhm." I reply.

"One sec, I'll go get one for you." Joe says.

As Joe leaves, his restaurant door opens. I turn around and see...

"Reki?! What are you doing here?" I ask.

"You left your jacket at the shop. It had the pin on it so I thought you'd need it." Reki says.

Then Joe came back, holding a bandage. He just had to show up now. He couldn't have waited. He couldn't have picked better timing.

"Joe, what's with the bandage?" Reki asks.

"It's for Phoenix." He answers.

"Huh?" Reki says.

"I injured myself the other day. I ran out bandages since the one I had got spoiled. So he gave me a new one." I reply.

"What for? I didn't even know Phoenix got injured." Reki points out.

"Normally, I don't. Whenever I race, I always race cleanly and never get injured. I was trying a new trick. And, well, I guess I wasn't paying attention." I reply.

"Oh ok. We'll see ya Joe, Phoenix." Reki says before leaving.

"Phew that was close." I sigh.

"You're gonna have to tell them someday." Joe says.

"I know. But not even you know. I'll do it the next time we're all together. And when I have more friends." I shyly say.

"Good idea. Anyway, you should get going. Isn't S tonight?" Joe points out.

"Yes but I'm not going. I won't be returning to S until the next race. I heard the gates are gonna get opened during the day once soon." I say.

"Hmm. Must be a major race for that to happen." Joe says.

"The word going around is that Miya Chinen challenged someone." I explain.

"The Japanese National Team hopeful? Jeez. Who's the lucky fella?" Joe says.

"Langa." I say.

"Damn. That's gotta be a tough one." Join points out.

"Yeah. Anyway, I'm gonna go now." I say.

"Mhm. Be safe." Joe says.

I left Joe's restaurant and started walking home. Thinking about the race between Langa and Miya. I literally had no clue who was gonna win. Miya. Or Langa. It wasn't exactly the easiest of races to bet on since they're both as good as each other. Well, I've never seen Miya skate.

I eventually got home and headed inside. It felt weird without my skateboard. I think Langa is practicing tomorrow so I may have to help as Y/N since my skateboard may not be fixed. Or risk it and go as Fire Phoenix and hope he doesn't notice that the board I'm using isn't mine. Well I mean it is but it belongs to Y/N not Fire Phoenix.

This is starting to confuse me.

I went into my kitchen and started trying to find something to eat. I found some cup noodles and just settled on making that for dinner. I turned on my kettle and got the pot noodle out of the cupboard. I took my mask off and lay it down on the countertop. Before the kettle finished boiling, I heard my doorbell ring.

I was confused but headed to my door either way. And when I opened it, I saw...

I accidentally wrote "someone" instead of "something". So it would've read, "I went into my kitchen to find someone to eat."
