Noah's POV

We had decided to go back to my house to spend the night, figuring we could deal with the whole kidnapping situation tomorrow, but right now, we all needed some rest.

After the short conversation about where to go, the car fell silent again except for Blake's heavy breathing and occasional gasps.

I reached over and grabbed his hand tightly in mine and his breathing slowly returned to normal.

He gave me a grateful look and I smiled back at him, squeezing his hand gently.

"So...you think Dixie will get arrested?" Anthony spoke up out of no where.

"She better." I replied, feeling rage seep into my body again as the events replayed in my head.

"Blake, do you remember what happened? The cops will want details." Jaden said.

"The cops?"

"Yes. Dixie needs to be held accountable for what she did." I told him firmly, my hand unconsciously squeezing his tighter.

Blake jumped, quickly wiggling his hand out of my grip and holding it against his chest.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"It's fine. Anyways, I remember at the end of school yesterday, Bryce came up to me at my locker and punched me. Dixie was standing behind him. When I came to later, I was downstairs where you found me and that's when Dixie forced me to call you. She held a gun to my head and said I couldn't leave until you agreed to date her."

"Oh right, Bryce was there. Guess he's going to jail too." Anthony said.

We drove the rest of the way home with light conversation, trying our best not to bring up the elephant in the room.

Once Anthony pulled into my driveway, we all hopped out and ran inside just incase we were being followed.

I locked all the doors and windows, then gathered everyone by the fireplace in the living room.

We formulated a plan for calling the police and making sure Dixie didn't escape, hoping that she would still be unconscious, but we did barricade the doors.

Soon, we were all asleep and my arms were wrapped around Blake and they didn't plan on letting go.

*The Next Day*

I groaned at the sound of my alarm ringing loudly in my ears. I sat up and turned it off before waking up everyone else.

"Why are we awake this early?" Blake asked.

"So we can get to school before anyone shows up."

They all nodded and dragged themselves off the floor, getting ready quickly, then climbing into the car.

Jaden and Blake fell asleep almost immediately, but Anthony, who was driving, and I stayed awake the whole ride.

We arrived at 4:30 AM, parking in the empty lot. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw Dixie's car still parked in the same place.

Jaden and Blake waited for the police while Anthony and I went inside to find Dixie, armed with her gun and a baseball bat.

The old floors creaked under us as we took careful steps through the dark halls. My eyes darted around as if I was expecting her to pop up out of nowhere.

Once we reached the stairs that lead to the basement, I went ahead of Anthony and walked down the familiar hall until I reached the door.

I slowly turned the knob and peaked my head inside to see Dixie sitting up in a different position then I last saw her in.

Her eyes were closed, so I assumed she was asleep. I quietly shut the door back and pulled Anthony up the stairs behind me.

As we made our way outside, loud sirens blared through the streets and bright, blue lights flashed.

I watched as two cops got out of their vehicle and came over to us. Blake told them everything and the rest of us chimed in with the story from our perspective.

One wrote everything down, while the other grabbed some things and went inside.

The cop reappeared with Dixie in cuffs, screaming, kicking, and glaring at Blake who waved at her as she was shoved into the police car.

"Wait! I demand you tell me why I'm being arrested. I know my rights." Dixie said.

"Well, you kidnapped and held someone hostage because you had a crush on their boyfriend. That's illegal, you know?"

She scoffed, swiftly kicking the cop in the balls. He fell to the ground and the other cop slammed the car door shut, helping his partner into the passenger's seat.

"We'll be in touch with more information on the charges you can place. Until then, be on the look out for that Bryce guy. He might be out to get you and we haven't located him yet."

"Will do officer, thank you." I said, shaking his hand.

He gave us a nod before climbing into the car and speeding off into the distance.

"I'm glad that's over. I always knew she'd get arrested some day." Blake said.

We decided to skip school and spent the rest of the day eating, since Blake hadn't eaten any real food, and just having fun.

People tell you not to take things for granted, and now I understand why. I never realized how much I had until I almost lost Blake.
