Blake's POV
I was walking into school proudly this morning because I was wearing my new flower crown.
I had spent all weekend making it and the materials cost me a fortune.
But it was worth it when I saw my usually unconfident self radiating pure joy in the mirror.
As I walked through the halls to my locker, I received many compliments on my newest creation, and a couple odd and uncomfortable stares from boys.
You see, I'm the only openly gay guy at my school, which means that all the jocks filled with toxic masculinity feel threatened by me.
"Hey gay boy, what's up?!" Bryce said with fake kindness.
Bryce Hall. Captain of the football team, most popular boy in school, and my main bully.
It seems like he doesn't get tired of calling me the same names everyday, and it never fails to put a smile on his face to see me suffer.
"What do you want Bryce?" He smirked, moving closer to me. His little group of followers, Josh, Griffin, and Anthony doing the same.
"Oh wait, let me back up before you get turned on." He laughed evilly.
"Well Bryce, to get turned on by you, my standards would have to be pretty low." A few giggles were heard throughout the hall way, but were quickly silenced by Bryce's glare.
"Excuse me?" He growled.
"You heard me. Hate to break it to you, but you aren't that hot."
"That's it! Come here you little bitch."
He grabbed me by my neck, pushing me up against a locker. My head banged on the locker door and I felt pain course through my body.
"Watch how you speak to me. Understand?" He said into my ear.
I nodded and he let go of me, punching me in the gut a few times before walking away. I fell to the ground, letting out a few groans.
The bell rung and everyone scurried to class, some people shooting me guilty glances but to scared to help.
I didn't feel like going to class right now, so I just sat there and soaked in the pain. I lifted up my shirt to see the new bruises that were forming.
"Hey, are you ok?" Noah asked.
Noah Beck. The 2nd most popular guy in school, captain of the soccer team, and my crush. Most importantly though, oblivious to Bryce's bullying.
Noah is one of the nicest people out there, especially for a jock. I'm sure he'd do something about Bryce if he knew, especially since I'm not the only one he bullies.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a few bruises." He looked taken aback.
"Just a few? A beautiful boy like you shouldn't have any." I blushed, looking away from his gaze.
"Do you want to go to the nurse?"
"I don't know how much an ice pack will help, but sure." He smiled, about to stand up when he noticed something.
"I think you dropped this." He said, picking up my flower crown.
"Oh, thank you." I was reaching to take it from him when he carefully placed it back on my head, readjusting it a bit.
"Its really pretty, did you make it?"
"Yep, took a long time though."
"Well, it looks amazing on you." I blushed again.
"Thanks." He stood up, offering me his hand to help me up.
I gladly accepted. pulling my self off the ground. We started walking to the nurses office and I looked down, realizing our hand were still intertwined.
I smiled to myself, enjoying the moment since I knew it wouldn't last.
Noah pushed open the door, letting me walk ahead of him.
"Hi, what can I do for you boys today?" The nurse asked.
"I fell earlier this morning and could use an ice pack." I told her. I saw Noah give me a suspicious glance from the side.
"Sure thing sweetie. I'll be right back."
She came back after a couple of minutes and handed me an ice pack and a towel.
"Thank you."
"Of course, come get it replaced when it melts."
Noah and I left the nurses office, walking down the halls. I had no idea where he was going, but followed after him anyways.
He opened a side door and walked out to a picnic table, sitting down and patting the seat next to him.
I sat down and stared at the freshly cut hedges bordering the school.
"So what really happened?" Noah asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I know you didn't just fall, tell me the real story." I sighed, turning to face him in my chair.
"You know Bryce Hall right?" He nodded.
"He's been bullying me for a while now and today was no exception. Any recent bruises are from him."
Noah frowned, clenching his fists on the table. I place my hand over one of his, watching the fists release.
"I'm sorry to here that, but I can promise it won't happen again."
"And how do you know that?"
"Because I'm going to go kick his ass." I rolled my eyes, swatting his toned arm.
"No you're not. I'll be just fine." He eyed me up and down, scooting his chair back.
"No you won't. I can't stand to see you get hurt like this." He said.
"Noah, you barely even know me."
"I know a lot more about you then you think."
