Blake's POV

Lunch ended to quickly for my liking and we were all headed to our next class.

I let out a sigh, already missing Noah's presence beside me.

As I stepped into the art room, some random guy was standing on our art teachers desk trying to shut up my classmates.

"Would everyone please be quiet for a second?!" He yelled over the multiple conversations happening.

"Why?" Griffin asked.

The substitute proceeded to explain that our teacher was out sick and that he couldn't find the notes for class.

"You guys can do whatever, I don't care." We all gave him a confused look.

"Then why didn't you just let us keep talking?" He shrugged and plopped down in the uncomfortable desk chair.

I sat down in my normal seat at the very back of the classroom, debating if I should go on my phone or take a nap.

I went with nap, putting my backpack on the floor and using my hoodie as a pillow.

After removing my flower crown and safely storing it in my backpack, I let my eyes fall shut.

"Hey, you're Blake right?" I opened one eye to see Dixie sitting in the chair next to me, a big smile plastered on her face.

"Yeah." I said, wondering if she knew that I was trying to sleep.

It's funny to me how people can see each other so much and not know a thing about one another.

Dixie and I had shared this class for the past year, even sat together at lunch today, and she still wasn't sure of my name.

"I don't have any other friends in this class, so I thought I'd talk to you." She said as if it were an excuse for waking me up.

"Ok, what do you want to talk about?" I gave in, sitting up straight in my seat and rummaging around for my phone in my backpack.

Over time, I realized that you always look cooler when you hold your phone and talk to people.

"Wanna know a secret?" Dixie whispered.

"Sure."

"Noah has a huge crush on you, ever since freshman year." I gave her a look that said 'you expect me to believe that?'.

"I mean it! Why do you think he does all that stuff for you?"

"He only stood up for me today, he was just being nice." I said, refusing to think for a second that my crush could like me back.

"If being nice means zoning out while staring at you in the halls, then he's the only nice person in this world."

I didn't know if she was trying to prove a point, throwing subtle shade at the fact that I was a loner, or both, but I let it go.

"Dixie, if he really likes me why are you telling me instead of him?" She laughed, making her even harder to believe.

"Because he's scared you won't like him back, worried you'll think he's like Bryce." It was my turn to laugh, no one was like Bryce.

"Well tell Noah that-"

"Tell me what?" I whirled around to see Noah~ freaking~ Beck towering over me.

Dixie smiled innocently while I choked on literal air.

"Ummm, I was telling her to say h-hi to you for me." Nice job Blake.

"You could've done that yourself, we're friends now."

There it was, the truth. I knew this had to be some kind of game.

To think even entertained the idea of Noah returning my feelings.

"Glad to hear that. Are we friends too Dixie?"

"Yeah, of course." She mumbled, looking down at her lap.

Why do these sorts of things always happen to me?

"Dix? Come on, the office wants you. That's why I came in the first place." Dixie nodded, grabbing her things and shooting me a guilty smile.

I watched as she and Noah left the room, the door slamming behind them.

I went back into my previous position, needing a good nap to clear my mind.

After plugging in my headphones to drown out the overwhelming sound of teenagers, I let sleep take over.

I guess some things really are too good to be true.

A/N: Hope y'all liked it! I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm doing a rainbow theme with the roses at the start of the chapter, for now anyways. Thank you for reading, I'll probably update again tomorrow. Love y'all
