Noah's POV

It had been about a week since I confronted Bryce, and I can proudly say that he hasn't bullied anyone since then.

He still sends me dirty looks from time to time, but he hasn't tried anything. I think he's scared of me now.

Dixie has been avoiding me since last Monday and I have no idea why. I don't remember doing anything, but she's acting so weird.

I walked into school and headed straight for my locker, seeing Dixie was already there. I wonder what she wants?

"Hey Noah! Can we talk?" She asked, giving me puppy dog eyes.

"Uh, sure."

"Great, come on." Dixie grabbed my arm and pulled me into an empty classroom, locking the door.

"So what's up?" I asked her.

"I need to tell you something and you have to promise not to hate me afterwards."

"Ok."

"I told Blake that you have a crush on him." I felt like I wanted to pass out, she's got to be kidding.

"You what?"

"I'm sorry! It just seemed like you do." Is she serious?

"Just tell me he thought it was a joke."

"I don't think he believed me, but you came before I could find out."

So that's why she's been acting so strange. I kinda wish she hadn't of told me.

"Thank goodness, please go make sure he knows you weren't serious."

"Ok. Do you like him though?" Now this was a question I wasn't prepared for.

"No." I said, looking anywhere but her face.

"Why won't you look at me? Never mind, I know why." She said with a smug look, leaving the room before I had a chance to reply.

The bell rang, signaling that it was time for class. I took a deep breath and left to go back to my locker.

I gathered my things and ran to class, realizing that I was running a bit late.

Once I made it there, I sat down in my normal seat and decided whether or not I would pay attention.

But when the teacher started talking about a partner assignment, I didn't have a choice.

"Alright class. You all will be working in pairs to do a research project one of these topics I have listed.

You will need to take pictures, make observations, and do experiments to prove your hypothesis." She said, handing out a packet with the requirements and outline.

"Do we get to choose our partners?" Kio asked.

"No Mr. Cyr, I have already chose them. The list is on the board."

I looked to where she was pointing and searched for my name.

Jaden and Anthony, Griffin and Kio, Josh and Bryce, Noah and...Blake.

I was working with Blake, why does that make me feel nervous?

"Hey Noah! I'm so glad we're partners!" Blake exclaimed, sitting down in the empty seat next to me.

"Yeah, same." I mumbled, suddenly becoming very interested in the packet.

"We should work on it after school today, if you're available." I watched his flower crown slip slightly on his head as he highlighted different things.

"I'm free. My house, 4:30?"

"Sure."

*time skip to 4:00*

I met Blake outside of the school and we got in my car.

We drove in a comfortable silence, the only sound being the radio that was turned on low volume.

When I pulled into my driveway, I heard Blake gasp.

"This is your house?!" He seemed so surprised.

"Yeah."

"Wow, it's huge!" I never thought about that.

"Come on."

I walked up to the front door, unlocking it and letting Blake go ahead of me.

"It's beautiful."

"Thanks. Lets go to my room." He nodded and followed me to the staircase.

I opened the door and walked in, stepping over the soccer ball I forgot to move.

Blake, however, tripped and almost fell, but I caught him.

I slowly lifted him up until he was standing. When he was on his own two feet again, I noticed a blush covering his face.

"Are you ok?" He was really red.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." Blake somehow blushed even more.

We sat down on the floor in front of my bed and started brainstorming ideas.

While Blake pitched things to me, my mind kept wondering back to his flushed face.

"Ok. Do you like him though?"

"No."

Why was I thinking about this? Why did I think another boy was cute?

I always thought I was straight as a pole, but that pole is starting to feel bent.

Fuck. I think I like Blake Gray.
