Song: iridescent - LINKIN PARK

I had woken again in this cell and to be honest it made me unsure of what was real and what wasn't. Only the harsh pains that cut across my body gave me any idea to how long I had been here. Starving and thirsty. My limbs ached in protest but I rose up so that I was sitting on the stone.

They had left another flame in the corridor which hadn't been here the first time. I was grateful because it meant I could now see my friend curled up in the cell beside me. Not that I wanted her to be here, but the darkness before had left me feeling so alone I was surprised I hadn't been shaking more. The fear was a presence that seemed to constantly weigh on my gut.

They knew what we could do and the cuffs at my wrist prevented me from accessing my power. I could feel the metal bands quenching down any release I tried to let out of me. I may have been in a stronger body , but the lack of food and especially water had dulled my movements so that I was weak against the unforgiving stone.

Gaia was across from me and she looked even worse than I felt. There was dried blood on her jumper and jeans and her head was lolled back against the stone in a painful looking way.

I sat there and tried to whisper her name several times until I gave up. Now I knew that she had been hurt badly. It seemed that I was the best out of the three of us, at least I assumed that because Sara wasn't here, so she was clearly in some deep shit.

Fuck I was terrified though. What had happened to the small girl , she may have been quick to learn how to fight in the forest before this, but I wondered if she was strong enough to face that horrid pair that had broken us into this state.

I laid down after my failed attempts at talking to Gaia. It was too hard to keep myself propped up and keep my eyes open.

As soon as I attempted to move into a comfortable position on the harsh ground, there was a soft pounding echoing down the hall. I felt it reverberate in my body. The footsteps caused my head to ring. The steps quickened and all I could do was lie in wait, by body limp with fatigue.

"Get up," a voice spoke into the muted light.

I tried to comply, the fear in my gut making my limp body eager to respond to the command. But all I could do was twitch at my fingers and slump back down to the floor with a grunt. Gaia was still lying on the floor despite the mans demand.

"I said get up" , I tried once more at that. The fear spiking in my chest so that I wanted to follow his command and surge upwards. But yet again weakness clawed at me. My separation from water changed from a dull ache to a head splitting pain.

I groaned into the darkness. There was nothing I could do. My body wasn't complying.

I heard and felt the door to my cell creak violently open. And steps drew near to me. Fucking hell.

Cool hands reached towards my face and I was presented with a pair of green eyes. I panted , panicked, when he grabbed me. But when he saw the fear in my eyes he seemed to understand.

"Fucks sake", he growled , laying me once more on the floor. The next second he was gone from my vision. And then soon after my head was cradled in cool hands once more. My desperation was met. Cool water was trickled into my mouth and I sighed into it. Closing my eyes in the bliss I felt as the water seemed to surround my head in its embrace as it entered my body.

Once I had drank I was cradled in that odd coolness that the man provided me with. It was a minute of peace that my body felt eased into. It was much nicer than the stone floor. But I new that soon I would be expected to get up.
