Nadia —————
Song: struggle - tove lo
I had spent days in the small room now. It's silence was consuming and I had resorted to singing annoying pop songs to interest myself. I had even started juggling pebbles I had found on the ground to amuse myself.
I was fed small amounts of food by a small trap under the door. But it was never enough to fill me. I had begun to crave ice cream and sushi and fast food like Mac Donald's even though I was sure there was no way I would ever taste that again.
Every time the person who was carrying the food approached I would try to communicate to them, I had shook the door and screamed until my lungs burned in agony, but whoever it was seemed to be an invisible force. Literally invisible. I had peered into the keyhole at the same time that food had been placed under the door, and the dimly lit corridor beyond had been stark of any life.
I had approximated by the small patch of light shining through the high up window in the cell that I was just below the ground , the window being on boot level with the outside world. I had also learnt the approximate time of day from the lights movement. And I knew that soon the same person would be back to bring more food. But I was tired of the monotonous cycle. I was alone and I wanted to see my friends. I barely knew them but I cling to the hope that they would come to save me.
I slumped on the wall of the cell just in front of the door. Still singing the incessant songs that were the only thing able to keep my mind occupied. I must have sounded crazy. The small latch opened again. Making a creaking noise against the stone as it shifted open.
This was my chance. In a flash I discarded the bowl of food with a swipe of my hand and reached for the invisible one that I knew was lurking on the other side. The food splattered everywhere and I hoped I hadn't ruined it completely, I'd end up regretting it if I had.
I heard a soft yelp as the person felt my grip.
"Let me out you fucking creep", I shouted out into the corridor.
"I- I can't , please let me go." It was a boys voice , he sounded young , not like the worn voice of the torturous man from before.
"Not until you let me out. I swear to god if you don't let me out I- I'll , I'll break your wrist." My threat was empty. The low water diet they had me on was keeping me weak, combined with the manacles at my wrist that kept me from the power I had felt before all this. This small feat was taking up all my energy. But it seemed the boy wasn't aware of that, or was too stunned to think properly.
"No , I- I can't help you , please let me go", he moaned the last part in anguish. My new body must be stronger than I realised.
"I'm thirsty and tired and bored and I'm going to kill you if you don't let me out". I was growing tired though.
"Please , let me out" I whispered , did no one have any human decency. Or , just decency in general?
"I can't , they'll kill me. Please let me go". Well shit I hadn't considered that. I supposed it made sense that everyone lived in fear here. Fucking stupid torture man. I hate everyone here, I had decided.
I let him go and in the same second I hear him thump straight into the opposite wall of the corridor , his tugging suddenly released and met with the stiff stone wall.
"You gave me a bruise you know". But I wouldn't. I lay down on my stomach to look through the opening and I can't see a thing. I mean , I can see the greenish tint of stone beyond my cell and the torch that lights flame in the corridor , but the boy stays a mystery.
