Cold (and I am tired)

"Yuto, what the fuck"

Yuto's heavy eye bagged eyes focused on an outraged Kino.

"What?" he replied, startled.

"You're in your boxers and a T-shirt. It's like 10 degrees in here."

"Oh.."

Yeah, their heating broke a while ago. Right after the day Yuto and Kino took Wakanda to the pet shop, if he can recall correctly.

That morning, Yuto woke up cold and alone in the bottom bunk bed, with only a trace of Wooseok's perfume ghosting the place he had formerly occupied next to Yuto. The Japanese boy felt that the temperature dropped drastically overnight, he thought maybe the guys forgot to turn the heating on. Normally, Yuto would wake up first always and be the first one to turn it on, but this time he unintentionally slept in a little later than usual. Morning chills bloomed goosebumps on his skin, so he grabbed a hoodie that was carelessly lying on the floor put it on. In view of the length and familiar scent, it belonged to Wooseok.

He found it quite odd that the younger woke up earlier than he did, and considering the events of last night, that the thought of made Yuto blush furiously, he became a little nervous at Wooseok's absence. Regardless, he pushed the thoughts away and focused on solving the mystery of the low temperature in the dorm.

When he entered the living room area, he found 5 pentagon members shivering on the couch, some wrapped in blankets, some in winter jackets. The smiling tall one was the one to attract his attention most. Wooseok met his gaze from under his parka, electrifying and pensive. He raked his eyes up and down Yuto's body, smirking a little bit. He noticed he was wearing his hoodie. Yuto looked away nervously.

"Well, folks, the heating is officially nonfunctional," Hui called as he walked in from the kitchen, phone in hand. "Just talked to our managers about it. Know what they said? Fuckers said they 'can't' do anything about it until Monday."

"What the fuck," called an infuriated Changgu from the couch, "It's Friday. Monday is like, a thousand years away."

"Yeah." Hui shrugged. "They said no one is working over the weekend and it's probably got to do with the heavy snowstorm outside."

"So what do they expect us to do, finish our schedules and then come back in the fucking North Pole?" joined Kino, with just as much rage and wrath.

"I know," replied Hui, walking past Yuto and plopping himself of the couch next to the rest. "It's so cold, my dick's gonna literally fall off. Not a problem for Hyunggu, tho" Hui said and dodged a flying pillow thrown at his face by Kino from across the couch.

"This is bullshit." Yanan rose angrily from the couch, heading towards the steaming kettle in the kitchen, who was beeping loudly, signaling the water was boiled enough. "95K dollar company and they can't afford proper motherfucking heating."

"You tell 'em , gorgeous," Changgu called after him, "Let's get the Chinese government on their ass."

"Fuck you"

"Yea! Fuck me!"

And that's how it was. The problem is, it was now Tuesday, and the heating still remained an issue. The company sent someone to fix the problem, but it turned out the moisture mixed with the extremely low temperature really messed up whatever the mechanisms had going on, down to the bottom of the building, and now they had to bear with the cold until they worked to replace the entire heating system. Thankfully, the company sent them 'complimentary' portable electric heaters. Not enough for every room, and whenever they had to move from place to place, they had to carry one with them. Bothersome. Not to mention extremely dangerous, as Hui kept forgetting to turn them off when he left, thus risking setting fire to the entire building.

It was really bad timing. They've started on a new, exhausting schedule for a future comeback that deprived the boys of all sleep. Especially Yuto.

Oh, boy, especially Yuto.

The boys were fully aware of how much work and effort the Japanese boy put in absolutely everything he did, which inevitably drained the young rapper of all serotonin and energy. He often hid from the others how much the ordeal actually affected him, and he appeared fine before, but this time the eyebags were getting more prominent, and his receptors were lagged from lack of food and rest.

As of right now, Yuto was completely ignoring the cold, didn't bother to turn on the electrical heater. He just frowned at the piece of scribbled paper he was clutching tightly, trying to rid his vision of unnecessary haziness.

Kino truly felt worried about him. He worried every time.

"Did you eat anything today, Yuto?" He asked, draping a stray thin blanket over the latter's defined shoulders.

"I will eat later." He replied idly, probably unaware of the thin fabric that now sheltered him from the cold he didn't feel.

"You always do this," Kino said in disagreement. "You can't just lose yourself like that, you need to look after yourself. What good would it do to yourself or any of us if you fainted during practice?"

"Hyunggu-ah, just- I will," Yuto replied in slight irritation. "I'm fine, I will eat later, I just want to finish this now."

Kino just shot him a remorseful look and sighed. No matter what anyone tells him, they can't stop Yuto from working. Like he's possessed. He sighed and left him alone.

Later that day, Yuto got a call from one of their managers. They called him over to have a discussion about his performance in dancing during the past weeks, and that never was a good thing.

Not for Yuto.

He did his best to bury himself in more work, be twice as productive, only to push down the rotting feeling of anxiety he felt at the thought of that upcoming meeting.

He also did his best to avoid Wooseok, who represented another problem that adhered unnecessarily to his feelings.

Honestly, he was trying so hard to make everything perfect, he couldn't possibly do any more. But in his mind, nothing was good enough.

Nothing he did was good.
