"I see you're back in the hallways again."
"I have to stay here anyways, might as well look around once more."
"Wanna—Pinch!— explore with me?"
"Sure," Kenma nodded.
After an encounter two younger teenagers had, they some how always met each other in the hallways late at night. Of course not all days they met up, one would look for the other while the other one would stay alone in their room or at home.

"So, when's your birthday?" Kuroo slouched a bit.
"October." Kenma looked out the large windows out into the lit up city below them.
"I'm in—Toes, I like toes—," Kuroo took a second, "November."
"That's somewhat cool." Kenma shrugged.
"Shut up Kenma, that's mean." Kuroo chuckled a bit and slightly nudged him.
They both walked for a while. It was like instinct for them, turning each corner, going down the stairs, taking the elevator and pressing the right floor to go down or up to. Either of them would just follow the other's lead.
Almost twenty minutes had past of just silence, the nice type where you look around and feel at ease.
Kuroo cleared his throat and stopped in mid walk. Taking a quarter turn, he just stood in front another big window they came across, he just stood there and looked out at the town. It was illuminated with lights, beautiful as ever.
"What's wrong," Kenma sighed and stood by Kuroo's side, slightly rubbing up against his arm. "Oh look the town, wow!" Kenma said in a sarcastic tone.
"How long have we been doing this?" Kuroo slid his hands into his pockets, "Like, you know, just walking around together.."
Kenma stood there for a moment, "Couple weeks? Maybe a month.."
"You know.. it feels like I've known you forever. It's like you're my best friend already," Kuroo smiled a sad-ish smile.
Kenma widened his eyes and bit his lip. He tensed up, "Why?"
"Because.. it's like we have a connection.." Kuroo laughed a bit, extending his hands to make jazz hands.
"But why me Kuro?" Kenma's hair fell over his face, covering his eyes.
"Why shouldn't it be you?" Kuroo smiled, "Think of that Kenma." He took his hand and shoved Kenma's head against his shoulder.
They stood there for some time, looking out into the town of lights. Slowly the sun started to glistening, coming up from behind the town. The sky turned pink with oranges. It was breathtaking, even though he had seen a sun rise before, this one seemed different, more beautiful.
"Now look, we've been awake this whole time.." Kuroo rubbed his neck, "I'm sleeping all day today." He slouched.
Kuroo jerked his head to look at the boy leaning on his shoulder. He lifted his arm and put his arm on his shoulder and leaned in closer.
"We're friend right?" Kuroo laughed and leaned side-to-side.
"No, definitely not, we're just strangers that have been hanging out every night and wandering around a big hospital together." Kenma rolled his eyes and wiped the strands of hair out of his face.
"My birthday's close." Kuroo looked down at the ground. "I get to go home, wanna come?"
"I don't like people."
