The devastation of the lost kitten remained in his mind. Even after three years he could never get over the cat. Kuroo went through multiple cats, even tried a dog once, not his forte.

He was now at the age of fifteen, that year he would turn sixteen.

It was a long process, but his father finally got custody of Kuroo. Indeed it was hard, the convincing of the judge and the lies, the many lies that were spread out. Luckily they were all pushed back by a big title wave of Kuroo's explanations. He told them everything, to every detail.

Now he lived with his father in a nice house by where he used to live. It was uplifted from his state of mind, but everything still pulled him. His mother was indeed sentenced to jail for five years, never to make contact with him.

Kuroo was even more happy because he was able to meet up with his friends, only on good days, which would mean his Tourette's wouldn't act up. The Tourette's indeed got worse since he got older, but he did get some control of them sometimes. Now he always got to see Bokuto and all the other people he was introduced to.

It was a life he dreamed for, the desirable he longed for was finally at his doorstep, until some darkness pulled him away from that one last step into the refreshing door of dreams. He was pulled back into reality once he had a tic attack, it was hard to handle, it went on for two straight hours. His dad helped at much as he could, but nothing worked. It soon turned into a panic attack when Kuroo felt like it was going to go on and he couldn't stop.

He was admitted into the hospital for treatment and therapy.

Kuroo now stayed in the hospital for most of the time; His father wanted him to stay in the hospital because he was too scared Kuroo would have a seizure while he was asleep, so he now stayed in the hospital. He could of course go home sometimes to just hangout, but he always had to go back to the place that always smelt like sanitizer and cleaning wipes.

The doctors looked more into his condition, finding out how much the condition increased since he was diagnosed. He was put on medication and therapy.

The medication he took was to prevent the dopamine, to block it. He was also prescribed ADHD medication that would help him calm down more when any event of a tic attack occurred. One more other medication was prescribed as well, anti-seizure pills. All of the medication he took in a day overwhelmed him more, is it actually safe to take this much medication a day?

As long as it would help, he was fine with it.

Kuroo knew this was a condition that would never be cured, it was stuck with him and he was stuck with it.

He never wanted to shed another tear over his medical problems, he never wanted to cry again in fact. He thought that since he was fifteen he could never cry, only have a dry face. But it was hard to not, waves of emotion toppled over him. When those waves came, they came hard; loud and painful attacks, crying, anything that would physically and mentally hurt him. Luckily it barely happened.

Kuroo indeed wanted another service animal to help him calm down, but nothing could match to his needs. He always thought he would never fall in love, he'd be heartless and alone for the rest of his life, "too much to handle."

Those thoughts were proven to be incorrect.

It was a normal day, any other boring same old, same old day. Kuroo got out of his odd hospital bed that was pushed up against the wall. Apparently they made an exception for him to stay in the hospital, (his father begging the hospital). It was a regular hostess room except there was no heart monitor or anything else you would expect in a patients room. He also had no need for a hospital gown, so he wore his normal street clothes.

As the morning went on, Kuroo paced around his room as a form of distraction. He felt so anxious, he had a phone but nothing special was going on in the small device. So he went on pacing through his small clean room, overthinking anything that came across his mind.

It was currently three in the afternoon, Kuroo was on his bed scrolling through the uneventful phone he had in his hands. He was so focused on the Instagram page of his best friend he didn't notice the nurse that came in.

"Oh, hello ma'am." Kuroo quickly sat up and set down the phone.

"Good afternoon Mr. Kuroo!" She gently bowed, "Have you taken the pills today sir?"

"You don't have to remind me all the time.. I'm perfectly— Bon Voyage!—" He sighed, why did he have to watch so much traveling videos? "Sorry.." He lowered his head.

"No issues sir, I am guessing you have taken them! I'll be on my way!" She smiled a warm smile and made her way out the door.

Kuroo smiled as she walked out, soon turned to a angry face, his face was boiling from embarrassment.

"Seriously?!" He slapped his hands over his face, "Did I have to say that in front of such a cute nurse..?" He groaned and fell back into the springy bed.

He soon got over the embarrassment of the incident. His finger scrolled through the page of Bokuto's Instagram, he noticed how much him and the other guy hung out. Kuroo knew of him, he met him when he was at the age of ten, that is all he could recall. It has been five years after all, but he did meet him occasionally, mostly just hanging out with Bokuto. Kuroo wondered, how were the other boys he hung out with when he was ten were? We're they living out their teenage lives? Kuroo shook his head and kept looking at the small screen.

A couple hours went by, it was dark out. His father called to say good evening and giving Kuroo his fatherly love.

Kuroo sat up and stared out the window, he wasn't really high up in the hospital, but he could still see over the town a bit. It was cool to see all the lights turn on and the town glow with life. Kuroo smiled and sat back down, bouncing a bit, he took the laptop that was sitting on his small table.

What am I doing? I'm just opening this from boredom..

He quickly shut the laptop uncontrollably, he thought he shattered it, luckily it was completely fine. Kuroo sighed in relief, what his father would have done if he broke the laptop.

Kuroo slid out of the bed he was laying in all day and rubbed his head, his hair was still sticking up as it always was. He paced around a bit, saying some random stuff while he kept throwing his hands up in the air.

He decided, he would just sneak out tonight for a nice breeze of night air.

What an encounter he would have that dark night in the hospital hallways.
