Chapter 11

I looked myself in the mirror again and again, I couldn't believe that it was me who was looking back in the mirror.

"Woah, is that really me?" I asked Pokkle and he nodded. "I look so... different!"

"You and your girlfriend look cute together." The woman said and I raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"What's a girlfriend?" I asked Pokkle and he cleared his throat.

"It means really good friends." He answered and I smiled.

"Yeah, I am his girlfriend!" I exclaimed and the woman smiled while Pokkle gave something to the woman and dragged me outside.

When I looked at him, his face was red as a tomato.

"Let's grab something to eat." He said as we went to this thing called restaurant.

Eating all different kind of foods tasted weird in my mouth but I liked *favourite food* out of all of them. I've never really tasted human foods as I haven't eaten anything the day that I was born.

I refused to eat whatever Meruem and my siblings were eating as I find it disgusting. After eating, he brought me to his home. It wasn't that big like our castle, but it was still interesting.

"Pokkle, is that you?" A pretty girl appeared with a smile.

As soon as she saw me, her eyes showed confusion.

"Who is this?" She asked and I approached her.

"My name is Y/n, one of the King's Royal Guard, Pokkle's girlfriend." I introduced myself and she widened her eyes.

"My name is Ponzu, you're his girlfriend? What's a King's Royal guard?" She questioned while glaring at Pokkle.

"It's the Chimeras, we live in the castle right now." I replied and Ponzu gave me a weird look.

"It's a long story, we should go inside and talk." Pokkle suggested.

"Fine, but what does she mean by girlfriend?" 

"Yes! It means very close friends, right Pokkle?" I looked at Pokkle and he nodded.

"I need to talk to you." Ponzun took Pokkle in another room so I looked around Pokkle's house for a moment.

I saw some pictures from here to there, an award that shows Pokkle's achievement of discovering something that wasn't discovered before and also pictures of Ponzu.

"This is the first time I have established a new species!" My hearing sense activated, making me hear what Pokkle and Ponzu were talking about in the other room.

"If what you're saying is true, it would be dangerous for you to continue staying there!" Ponzu commented and I focused on their conversation.

"This is big for both of us! I need to study them, we could be the first people who encounter and befriend Chimera's like them."

"They're monsters, Pokkle!" I widen my eyes at what Ponzu said.

Monsters?

"Like what you said, they've killed thousands of people. You could be next."

I didn't know what to do, I felt a sudden sadness stirring inside of me as I thought of myself as a monster. I looked at my hands and counted how many I've killed so far.

None

Which means I am not a monster... right?

I looked at Pokkle's achievement and understood what it was meant for. I was a new species, my siblings and the King are new species which mean we are somehow... different from humans.

Normal POV

"Y/n is different from all of them, she saved my life! She's not like any other Chimeras!" You smiled at what Pokkle said but it soon disappeared at Ponzu's next sentence.

"She may look like a human but she's still a Chimera, sooner or later, she will kill someone. Maybe even you. A Chimera would always be a Chimera, and they're predators!" There was a moment of silence between them before Pokkle decided to break it.

"I trust Y/n, and I hope you trust me with my decision as well. Y/n saved my life and I know that she will never hurt me." That was the last thing Pokkle said before returning to where you were.

"Hey, everything alright?" Pokkle asked.

You pretended like you didn't hear anything and you gave him a smile.

"Yes I'm fine, I think it's getting late. We should start heading back to the castle." You replied then stopped on your tracks. "But I think you shouldn't come anymore Pokkle."

"W-what? Why?" Pokkle was taken aback by what you said.

"Because we're monsters, I don't know how long I'll be able to protect you from others so it's best we part ways here." Before Pokkle could say something, you made yourself invisible and left the place.

You walked into the forest, and you felt so sad. You don't know why but somehow the interaction earlier was familiar to you but you just can't put your finger on it.

As you were walking, you felt a presence following you. You quickly made your move and appeared behind the person following you.

"Hi there, why were you following me?" You asked the person.

The person was shocked to the point he activated his power and ran away from you. You stared in disbelief before going after the person.

"Why are you running? I'm not going to hurt you." You told the person as you ran beside him.

He increased even more, and you sigh as you continued following him. Soon he spent all of his energy and stopped in the middle of the forest.

"What do you want from me? Why are you following me?" The person questioned and you gave him a confused look.

"Weren't you the one following me?" You returned the question, and the person was left dumbfounded. "I only followed you because I was curious of why you were following me."

"O-oh... because you looked suspicious!"

"Hmm?"

"Besides, what were you doing alone in this forest when there's Chimeras lurking around?" 

"What's so bad about Chimeras! It's not like we chose to be born this way!" You snapped and the person raised an eyebrow.

"You're funny, you're not a Chimera, you're a human. I only followed you because I was worried that you might run into them." The person explained and you still don't know why they refer to you as a human being.
