Chapter 12

That's when you realized that humans and Chimera looked different with each other. While Chimera resembles some animal parts on them, humans looks like... humans. That's when it dawned to you that you do like a human being.

'No wonder I looked so different than anybody else...' You thought as you looked at your hands.

"Anyways, my name is Y/n!" You introduced happily while putting out your hand.

The person was wary of you but took your hand anyway.

"Killua, Killua Zoldyck." The guy said and you put your fingers on your chin.

"I don't know my last name, I never had one to begin with." You said and Killua sweat drop. "Hey, maybe you can give me your last name! It sounds cool! Y/n Zoldyck!"

"E-eh! I don't think it works that way."

"Then maybe you can give me one? I won't mind any." Your eyes sparkled as you waited for Killua to answer.

Killua was beyond confuse. He was assigned to investigate the forest and when he saw you in there, you became suspicious to him as no one was supposed to be in that area. Although now that he determined you were human, then he has no reason to spy on you.

Yet he couldn't believe how fast you were to keep up with his Kanmaru, even at full speed. Now that he got to know you a little bit more, he thinks that you're just somehow who escaped from the mental hospital.

"What about L/n? It means something but I forgot and the sounds suits you... I think." Killua explained and your eyes beamed up.

"L/n, Y/n L/n! I love it! You should give the others a last name too!" You exclaimed.

"Others?"

"Yes! Neferpitou, Shaiapouf and Menthuthuyoupi! Maybe even give the King a name but I think he prefers that name alone." As soon as you said those names, Killua's eyes widened as those were the names that they've acquired.

"Who... who are you?" Killua questioned and you proudly represented yourself.

"Y/n L/n, the fourth and youngest Royal Guard of King Meruem." You answered and Killua's aura changed.

You were shocked when you felt his aura increasing, it was stronger than before. 

"Kanmaru, God Speed." Killua said as he charged towards you.

You blocked his attack but was shock by the lightning around him. You remembered that water and lightning don't really go well together, heck you won't even be able to defend yourself.

You have no idea why Killua suddenly started attacking you as you thought you've made a new friend but you were wrong.

Reader's POV

"Water shield!" I created a shield between us, but he just went through it.

My power was useless against him no matter what I do. I still couldn't understand why he started attacking me when I've never done anything to provoke him. When I fell on the ground, I saw that his eyes were full of hatred. 

"Because of your kind, Kite died. He was really precious to my friend and you killed him." Killua said.

I could feel his hatred, the bloodlust he was emitting and the despair he was feeling. I couldn't understand at all, I don't even know who Kite is!

"W-wait, there must have been a misunderstanding..." I tried to reason out as I still wanted to befriend him.

"Neferpitou..." He trailed off and I widened my eyes. "Was the one who killed Kite."

 Monster!

I clutched my head as I began hearing what Ponzu said to me. Is this what we really are? Is this why the humans hates us?

But I haven't done anything wrong... I just want to make friends

Normal POV

Killua couldn't understand why you were crying at the moment, but he didn't care. All he wanted was to avenge his friend Kite the moment they found out that he was dead. He doesn't want to kill Y/n though, he just wants to make her faint her then bring her back to interrogate her. 

After all, Y/n is an important asset, and she will be able to help them have more information about the King and the three royal guards. Maybe she might even know if Neferpitou can bring back Kite alive.

Although with the state you are in now, you just want to understand everything. Why you were born as Chimera and not a normal human being, why humans hate Chimera so much that they want to eliminate them or why they are calling you a monster.

Nothing ever made sense to you the moment you stepped out of the castle. You widen your eyes with that realization. Right, you were fine when you were still with the King and your siblings. Maybe that's where you belong after, maybe you shouldn't have ever stepped out of the castle.

Being the youngest made you so curious about the world that you've forgotten where you truly belong.

"Tell me..." You were brought back to reality when Killua spoke again. "Can Neferpitou bring Kite back?"

"I... I don't know..." You answered as you tried to compose yourself. "I've never really known what her true capabilities are..."

You don't know why but you wanted to get out of that place as soon as possible. You know you're no match for Killua as he uses lightning for his attack, and it hurts you so much. The only thing you could do was to get out of the place and fast.

When Killua charged at you again, you made an illusion of yourself on where you were right now and went invisible. You made the illusion scream as soon as Killua attacked it and left the place, but you were shock when Killua managed to follow you.

"So you can be invisible too." Killua said and shocked you, forcing you to reveal yourself.

Just earlier, you were following his speed but now fear was instilled in your body, he managed to caught up with you.  

"P-please, leave me alone!" The two of you fought each other, you on the losing side as none of your attacks works against him.

Although luck was on your side as Killua's nen suddenly depleted. 

'Damn it! I've used up too much nen! I will need to recharge!' He thought.

You were almost at the same situation as him, just weaker to the point you could faint at any moment. You then remembered your fight with the King. How come you can fight someone who is way stronger than Killua but you let the kid beat you? 

Monster!

It was because of what Ponzu had called you. That word had been lingering in your mind, and you were proving so hard to Killua that you weren't the monster they think you were. 

Come to think of it, you did call the King a monster when he killed the humans yet you're still protecting him so maybe that makes you a bit of a monster. 

'But I haven't killed any human beings...' You thought as you stared at Killua. 

"I am not a monster..." You whispered and Killua was shocked.

"What did you just say?" He questioned and you locked your eyes with him.

"I said I am not a monster!" 

The two of you suddenly snap your head when you both heard a scream.

"T-that sounds like Pokkle!" You shouted as you quickly stood up.

"Pokkle? What's he doing here?" Killua wondered.

"He's in danger, I must save him!" You quickly disappeared from Killua's sight and he was astounded.

He don't know how you knew Pokkle but the worried face he saw from you made him second thought everything. It is like that time when they faced the Phantom Troupe and Nobunaga cried when he found out that Uvogin got killed.

They may seem heartless, but they do care towards their friends.
