Chapter 17

Shaiapouf's POV

I was beyond overjoyed when I found out that Y/n was dead. My poison on the water was undetectable and they wouldn't had seen it coming, not even the King. It may be against the code as Y/n was a Royal guard, but I can't have her getting in the King's way anymore.

"Y/n... Y/n no!" I heard Pokkle crying from the King's room and I almost laugh at myself as my plan worked.

Pitou and Youpi was also with me and they were both crying. 

"Y/n... no, how could this happen?" Pitou questioned.

"It is part of the life cycle. You live, you eat, you die. That's the cycle of life." I answered and even though I want to celebrate, I had to tone down my En and pretend that I am sad.

"But not like this..." Pitou said and I turned to her. "I could had healed her, I was too late..."

Maybe I can use her vulnerability right now to my advantage.

"I heard that there's Chimeras who are rebelling towards us. Y/n was killed by those group and they must be eliminated!" I put Pitou under my spell and it seemed to work.

"Tell me where they are, I will eliminate them right now." She released a large amount of En that could make anyone tremble in fear.

Not the Royal guards or the King though, it only affects those who are weaker than us. Which means, that Pokkle guy is slowly dying right now. All of the sudden, the door opened and it revealed the King.

I widened my eyes as I saw Y/n and Pokkle beside him, unharmed. As soon as Pitou saw this, she stopped her En and went to hug Y/n.

"I'm so happy you're alive!" Pitou exclaimed, while me and Youpi paid our respect to the King.

How could this be? Why is she alive! I thought she died! And that Pokkle...

I looked up and saw the King protecting Pokkle from any harm. 

B-but why...

Reader's POV

So, it was real that Pouf tried to get rid of me. How could he? As far as I know, I've never done anything that could make him hate me. If it weren't for the King, then me and Pokkle wouldn't be here right now. 

I saw how Pouf was so shocked when he saw me alive. Unlike Pitou and Youpi who were grieving for me, Pouf was celebrating. 

"I'm so happy you're alive!" Pitou cried while hugging me.

Then she just realized that she hasn't paid respect to the King so she knelt down and saluted.

"Apologies for my actions my King." Pitou said.

"I'm glad you're alive." Pouf commented after he saluted and I locked my eyes with him while releasing my En, with a mixture of my own dark, aura.

I watched as Pouf trembled in fear while the rest were shocked. 

"Yes, are you really glad that I'm alive... Shaiapouf?" I made sure to mention his name with much venom in my tone as I can.

This is to warn him never, EVER mess with me ever again.

"O-of course I-i am..." Pouf trembled in fear, and he barely got his words out.

This was the first time I saw him being scared to death and it amuse me because that's when I knew that I was stronger than him. He's not the only one who can feel the En that I've released, everyone in the room can feel it too, yet it doesn't seem to affect them, aside from Pokkle who looks like he was about to pass out.

I guess I need to stop before he loses consciousness

"Remember this Pouf, if you mess with me ever again, I won't hesitate to mess your back." I threatened Pouf and I seemed to get the message across, so I turned to my normal self. "Speaking of mess, you want to play chess my King?"

I smiled at the King and he seemed to be staring at me in amusement. I heard the chess guy killed himself, so I wanted to play with the King and learn the game myself.

"Hmph, I doubt that you'll ever beat me." The King stated and I put a hand on my hips.

"You'll never know unless you try." I said then grabbed his arm and dragged him away.

"Unhand me this once." He demanded and I sticked my tongue out to him.

"No." 

Even though he told me to unhand him, he never did anything to push me away. In fact, he let me drag him all the way to the game room. I don't know why but the King seems to be staring at me a lot, but I didn't pay attention to it. 

Pokkle's POV

I was astounded, speechless and confused. When the King asked me earlier about love, I thought he fell in love with someone else not... not Y/n. The way he follows her around, watch her every move and he may not know it, but his eyes is always in amusement whenever he sees Y/n.

Learning about them had been the most amazing discovery I've ever had. No one would ever know what's happening inside the castle if they don't see it with their own eyes. The King is in love of Y/n and somehow Y/n is also in love with the King.

Two of the same species, born after the other, have taken interest with each other. If I told this research with the world, they wouldn't even believe a word I say!

"Pokkle, how do you play chess?" Y/n asked me, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I was about to step forward, but the King made me stop on my track.

"Why are you asking him? I can teach you." The King had this warning tone in his voice for me not to interrupt.

I watched how he interacts with Y/n with care and softness in his voice. It's like I'm watching a love story unfolding and the couple don't know the danger that's waiting for them. 

Yes, the danger. I met with Gon and Killua earlier before I came here. They told me their plan to infiltrate the castle and defeat the King. Although they won't be the one to face the King but it's Isaac Netero. The 12th chairman of the Hunter Association.

He would be the one to face the King and as for the Royal guards, someone else will distract them away from the King so Netero can fight him without any interruptions. As much as I want to observe more about the King, I had to leave the place as the attack would be happening soon.

They're not bad Chimeras; they just made a mistake on attacking the humans earlier...
