Reader's POV
"Oi, Y/n! Slow down!" Pitou called me but I didn't listen to her.
I continued running into the forest and eventually, I saw three guys bullying someone. I sneaked up behind them and picked up a rock. Before the guy with a turtle head hit the person, I threw the rock towards him and was lucky to get a headshot.
His two friends immediately went on alert and as soon as they saw you, they pointed their swords at you.
"How dare you hurt the Prince! Don't you know that is a crime!" The guy with the butterfly pin declared and I rolled my eyes.
"That's the Prince that you're supposed to protect? What a joke, he is not a Prince." I told them and they looked like they were going to burst any moment now.
"What do you mean I am not the Prince?" This so-called Prince spoke up and I rolled my eyes.
"From my knowledge, the Prince is supposed to protect and serve his people and from what I just witness, hurting your own kind goes against your code. On top of that, there's three of you and one of him! What kind of a Prince are you anyway?!" I helped the guy that they were bullying and got him to stay behind me.
"I am the Prince who would rule the entire world one day!" The Prince spoke up and this made me chuckled.
"Well good luck with that because you can count me out. I am not going to respect someone who cannot respect his own kind." I pulled the guy with me and walked past them.
"Don't you dare turn your back on me!" The Prince shouted and I looked over my shoulder with a triumph smirk.
"Oops, I just... did."
"Prince Meruem, if ordered by you, I would like to imprison her for hurting and disrespecting you." I heard the butterfly guy said and somehow this scared me.
Uh oh, did I just get myself in trouble?
"She's not worth it." I heard the Prince, Meruem said, and I just scoffed.
Worth it my ass, I'll get you on the face next time!
After they were out of sight, I checked the guy whom I saved if he was alright. He got bruises and cuts from here to there and what that Prince did made my blood boiled.
"Prince, what type of a Prince hurts his subjects!" I muttered. "What's your name?"
"M-my name is Pokkle, t-thank you for saving me back there." The guy replied and I smiled at him.
"I'm Y/n L/n, one of the Royal knights in the Kingdom of Chimera." I introduced myself and he widened his eyes.
"Aren't you supposed to protect the Prince if you're one of the Royal knights?" He questioned and I just shrugged.
"I serve under King Netero, he is the one I'm protecting. Besides, I've never heard of this Meruem up until now." I replied and he seemed like he had seen a ghost.
"P-prince Meruem is the son of King Netero! They've announced that his son will be coming today and that was Prince Meruem!"
"Prince or not, I am not oblige to protect royals if they hurt their own subjects. Besides, King Netero will understand me if I explain to him what Meruem did." I told him and soon, Pitou caught up with me.
"There you are Y/n! Don't run like that again!" Pitou said while trying to catch her breath and I gave her a smile.
"Let's go for ice cream, my treat."

"Your majesty, that is the tyrant who threw the stone on Prince Meruem! You must punish her!" The butterfly guy, who was called Pouf, demanded and I gave them a straight face.
You got to be kidding me...
As soon as I came for my duty, Meruem and his guards, Pouf and Youpi, were summoned by the King and now they are telling on me like a bunch of kids.
"Y/n, is this true?" King Netero asked me and I went on my knees.
"With all due respect your majesty, I saw Prince Meruem hurting one of his subjects so I only did what other people would do when they see that same situation. I did not know that he was the prince." I told him and Pouf went in the way.
"Even after knowing that he's the prince, she continued to disrespect him! She must be punished!" Pouf pointed out and I heard the King sigh.
"I cannot do that, Y/n is the best Royal knight and punishing her for a good deed is unfair. Am I right, Meruem?" The King turned his attention to Meruem and all he did was roll his eyes.
"I don't really care about anyone, I just want you to die earlier so I can finally rule the world." I almost gagged at what Meruem said and the audacity he had to disrespect his own father.
"Well here is my decision, I am assigning Y/n to be your new Royal knight. Although she can do whatever she wants, whether to follow your or not, that's on her. Her new mission is to make sure she knock some sense into that head of yours!"
"What/what!" Me and Meruem both said at the same time.
"I apologize for putting this on you Y/n but my decision is final." The King said and all I could do is bow and take on his request.
"Yes, your majesty."
"No! I will not allow this! I don't need another Royal knight! Pouf and Youpi are enough!" Meruem objected and the King waved his hand.
"Then they will be no longer your Royal knights, I am relieving them from their duty." And with that, I became the new Royal knight of this obnoxious, selfish, annoying prince.
You could probably guess what happened next as everything in my past life, happened again in this life. The only difference is, me and Meruem lived happily, ever after.
