Chapter 9

"No, he is not a food. He is my... friend." I defended and I felt Pokkle stiffen.

"Humans and Chimera can never be friends." Zazan was still trying to convince everyone to eat Pokkle.

I won't let that happen.

"She is correct Y/n." Pouf tried reasoning me out but nothing is going to change my mind.

Pokkle is my friend and I'm planning in keeping it that way.

"It's either you kill right now, or I will do it myself." The King stood up from his seat and is now walking towards us.

I widen my eyes because I used too much of my energy before, I don't think I'll be able to fight all of them at once. I'll be able to defend myself but I have to use that defence on Pokkle.

"Stay away from him." I ordered the King, yes the King and he glared at me.

Crap, this is not good. I don't have much energy left.

I look behind me and saw Pokkle preparing to fight. He told me earlier that he was a Transmitter and he calls his Nen Rainbow. An idea then popped into my mind.

"Pokkle, can you make water out of your arrows?" I asked him.

At first he gave me a confuse look, but then understood what I meant. He was about to create a water arrow when suddenly, I saw something coming outside the window.

Fireballs was charging at full speed towards the King. I didn't hesitate to ran towards the King while pushing him down the ground and creating a barrier around us, as well as Pokkle. I used my remaining water inside of me to protect both of them.

Since it was a fire, my water was dissolving so fast that I have to use extra energy to keep the barrier strong. Water doesn't go well with the fire, especially if there aren't any water around.

Soon the fireball stopped as I saw Pitou leaving his post. I then realized me and the King's position. I was on top of him and he was intently staring at me. The water that I used as a barrier disappeared in thin air, indicating that I don't have anymore water inside of me.

Meaning, anyone can attack me at the moment and I am defenseless. I fell down on the King's, gasping for air as I felt my body weakening. To my surprise, the King caught me instead of pushing me away from him.

It was the first time that I felt like... he cared. The way he's holding me made me feel like I was... special to him.

"Water... I need water..." I whispered.

"Y/n!" Pokkle ran towards me, without caring about what the other Chimera would do to him.

"Your majesty! Are you hurt?" Pouf and Youpi came inside with worried face on.

"Get me lots of water." He demanded and I managed to chuckle.

"Yes sire!" Pouf and Youpi quickly left to get water.

"Since when did you care about me?" Here I am, looking like I'm dying but I could still tell a joke?

The King ignored me and he helped me sat up while he examine me. Pokkle was about to create that water arrow again, but he was too late when a whip went around my waist and pulled me up the air.

The next thing I know, someone was holding me by the neck. A woman who looked like on her 30's with a black wings, not a real one, was the one who captured me. Soon two buffed guys joined him.

"So I'm guessing you're the King." The woman spoke while pointing at the King and saliva started coming out of her mouth.

The King glared at her and I saw him glancing at me.

"K-King, get out of here! Let the guards take care of them!" I shouted and hoped that the other guards will come soon.

"Aww look at that, your girlfriend is trying to save your life." The woman spat while tightening her grip on my neck and I screamed in pain.

I could taste my blood in my mouth and I was slowly losing my consciousness.

"Y/n!" I heard Pokkle screamed but I couldn't look at him for my sight was beginning to blur.

The pain ended quickly though as I saw the King sliced the woman's hands off with his tail, making her let me go. I thought I was going to fall down the ground but the King caught me.

Meruem's POV (No one knows his real name yet)

I jumped up and caught Y/n. I don't know why but my body just moved. I hated her as my Royal Guards but she was always the one protecting me first and risking her life just to save me.

Ever since she... kissed me? I've been feeling something new. It's a strange yet amazing feeling. I don't know what she's doing to me but I will soon find out. This must be one of her Nen ability.

"Aaaaaah!" The woman screamed in agony.

I looked at Y/n on my arms and she was having trouble trying to look up to me.

Bu-bump!

Bu-bump!

Bu-bump!

There's that strange feeling again.

"You monster!" I didn't realize that the woman used her other arms to create fireballs and threw it towards us.
