Chapter 4: Struggling

"Good morning!" Sirius jumped, as Lily walked into the kitchen grabbing a mug.

"Oh, good morning." He grumbled back. His back was sort of hurting. When he woke up, him and Remus were still tangled together outside.

"G' morning," Remus groaned, walking into the kitchen stretching and cracking his back.

"You both look like you slept on a rock, are you okay Rems?" Lily touched Remus' arm.

"Okay, we slept outside." He looked at Sirius, their eyes met for a moment before James came skipping in, breaking them out of it.

"Good morning!" He cheered.

"Why are you so happy.." Sirius asked, narrowing his eyes at James. "Oh my god what did you do?" Sirius sighed.

"Nothing! Why do you think i did anything? I'm just happy because you didn't kick me in your sleep."

"Because Sirius and Remus slept outside." Lily stated, stirring the sugar into her coffee.

"You- what? Wait, what did you guys do?" James sprung towards Sirius shaking his arm with a big cheesy grin on his face.

"..Uh we-"

"We did nothing, he just saw me go out there and kept me company." Remus interrupted.

Sirius' face faltered before he smiled again, this time looking a little more forced.

Remus looked at Sirius, but he wouldn't look back.

It was the first thing that cane to mind, i'm sorry.. please look at me.

"I need to piss." Sirius left the kitchen in tension, everyone could feel it. Remus followed Sirius' movement with his eyes before he turned to make some coffee, getting stopped by James and Lily's stares.

"What?"

"Follow him." Lily sighed and James smiled at him, but Remus could tell James was a bit worried. He didn't need to be.

Remus knew they knew something was up, so he just went after him.

"Sirius?" he whispered outside the bathroom, "Cmon are you mad at me?"

"No." came from behind him, making Remus jump. He spun around to find Sirius leaning against the door way to the room James and him were staying in, arms crossed in front of him.

"I'm sorry, I-" Remus started.

"It's okay, you're right aren't you?" Sirius laughed, it sounded genuine but Remus could tell it wasn't.

"Right? About.. about what?"

"Nothing happened." Sirius gave a stiff nod before smiling. "Why would you be sorry for nothing, you big goof." Sirius gave another breathy laugh, racking a hand threw his long dark hair.

"Because it wasn't nothing to you!" Remus rolled his eyes, annoyed at this blunt side of Sirius.

"But it was to you," Sirius whispered looking at his feet.

He thinks that? Remus could feel his heart cracking.

Sirius took a deep breath before looking back up at Remus with a smile, "and thats okay." He mumbled, crossing his arms again as if like protecting himself.

Remus took a step forward, "You think that was nothing to me?" he looked at Sirius with sadness in his eyes. Sirius looked back, completely unaffected before giving a small nod.

"Of course it wasn't nothing to me you dumbass." he whispered, lifting Sirius' chin.

Sirius tried hiding his smile, but Remus didn't.

"You've known each other for around a week.. and you're already whipped." James said, scaring Remus and Sirius.

They turned to find Lily and James smirking at them. "Well?" Lily quirked an eyebrow, "are you whipped grand ole Moony?" she was grinning now.

"Fuck off-" he groaned before laughing.

Sirius pressed a kiss to Remus' cheek, making Remus whip his head towards him before he backed up into the room, closing the door.

"So.." Lily whistled. "What are you two?" She asked.

"I, uhm? Yeah?" Remus looked back at her blushing a bright red.

"Understandable." James nodded, putting an arm around Lily's shoulders.

"Completely." Lily nodded, taking James arm off of her.

"Cmon Lils!" James whined, "When will you admit you are overly in love with me?" He cried, following her down the hall.

"Never going to happen curly." Remus heard being called back before a groan and close of a door.

Where are his parents? He doesn't know. If their here why are they not complaining because he knows their group can get annoying? He also doesn't know.

The bedroom door opens, "Hi." with a little Sirius popping out.

Remus chuckles, "Hi." He looks into Sirius eyes and smiles, "I'm tired." He pouts, making Sirius the one laughing.

"Oh god, tell me you did not do it in the bed i happen to be sleeping in? why couldn't you do it in Remus' bed? this is his house after-"

"No! No no no no NO!" Sirius yelled falling out of the bed and onto his back. "Augh.." he clutched his hip.

"What the fuck James?" Remus rubbed his eyes, trying to wake up from the power nap he and Sirius just took.

"Well? Did you?" James ignored Remus.

"No James! For the love of god and everything good, no!" Sirius cracked his back, standing up.

"Okay good." James sighed, putting a hand over his heart dramatically.

"Is Lily still here?" Sirius asked walking towards the door.

"Yeah, why?" James turned towards him.

"I'm going to go tell her all the reasons why she should not date you," Sirius smirked at him, "Starting with, you like to hurt your best mate and like seeing him break his back."

James threw his head back laughing. Sirius started walking out the door just to hear "Wait no-"

James proceeded to chase Sirius until he smacked right into Lily.

"Fuck." James slapped both hands over his eyes as Padfoot and the red head went tumbling to the floor. "Holy hell i am so so so sorry!" Sirius quickly apologized, climbing off of her. She bursted out laughing.

"Oh my god it's more than completely fine Siri," she wiped the tears from laughing so hard. "You and James were fucking around, i get it. Me and Moony are the same way, i swear one day i'll have his head."

Sirius started laughing but then abruptly stopped. "James is so very in love with you but is a horrible person, please don't marry him and have eleven children?" He put his hands together, begging.

Lily stops laughing and looks at Sirius and deadpans "How do you know Moony and i aren't already married with eleven children?"

"What?"

They all whip around to find Remus leaning against the door frame with a lazy smirk and a raised eyebrow. "You never told me about these supposed children?"

"Yes i did! where is my child support?" Lily stomped.

They all broke out into laughter, Sirius throwing his head back and falling onto the floor that he just got up off of. Remus watched him, smiling. Like James did Lily.
