clothes were being shoved in bags, bags were being shoved into the car, feet were awkwardly being shuffled around the cobblestone.

"So.. uh- well, we could. Uhm, y'know." Lily broke the silence that covered the last few hours of the day like a blanket.

Remus' parents stood by the door, Hope was frowning, she was going to miss the three boys who lived in her home for the past three months. They were family now, she made them promise they would see each other again, even if that meant she would need to break into their dorm. Of the university they still needed to see if they were accepted to.

James threw himself at Hope, "Christ- i'm going to miss you.. you and your bloody cooking."

Hope choked out a laugh, "yes, that reminds me.." She handed out a container to Sirius, seeing as James hadn't let go yet, "cookies."

That did it, James cried into her shoulder.

Hope chuckled as he comforted him, "oh, dear, you're visiting, it'll be just fine."

Sirius forced a smile at Remus, "well.. your mums held up with James. Our goodbye, then?"

Remus dug his nails into the palm of his hand, pulling his lips up into a smile as well before sighing. "Yeah- yeah, uh. Bye."

Sirius laughed as he pulled Remus into a hug, a tight one. "Fuck.. I'm going to miss you." He whispered.

Remus didn't know what to make of it, so he just rapped his long arms around the other boy and breathed in.

Sirius didn't let go of him when Remus tried to pull back so he just let it happen, he just let them sink together, let them just keep holding tighter, as the seconds ticked on he just let them have this. This bubble, that had to be popped any minute now.

"Moons.." James softly spoke, laying a gentle hand on Remus' elbow.

The two unrapped the other from their embrace, welcoming the other members to say their goodbyes. Sirius went to Lily as Remus went to James. Regulus was speaking to Hope, and Lyall had gone back inside seeing as he hadn't bothered to actually interact much with the new comers.

"You are a kind, intelligent soul, and I quite enjoyed having you." He heard his mother tell Regulus.

James had tear stained cheeks, his hair just a bit more wild than normal, and his bottom lip was still wobbling.

"Oh piss off, I'm emotional, we know." James cracked a sloppy grin as he dragged Remus into his arm's. "Fuck.. you need to visit or vice versa- god damnit, I'm crying again."

Remus let himself feel the hurt that he'd been trying to push back, he let the tears fall as he and James just hugged. "Yeah.. that'd be great."

James held on a little longer than Remus tried, but he wasn't going to complain. James and Sirius we're very alike in these ways.

"God, I love you, mate. Y'know that, right?" James pushed back to lock eyes with him as he spoke.

Remus nodded, didn't say a word, he knew he would melt into a puddle if he did. James didn't seem to mind.

"My turn."

Remus broke off from James, turning to find Regulus. Fuck, Regulus.

"Shit." Remus cursed as his face screwed up, trying not to cry harder than he already was. "Fuck."
