I wake to the sound of the shower running. Yawning tiredly, I rub my eyes to clear any sleep out as I sit up in the bed. Naturally the first thing I do is check the time.

10:38 AM.

It's almost eleven!? With wide eyes I rush from the bed, jumping in the shower with Hardin so fast that he jumps in surprise.

"What's wrong?" He frowns at me as I grab the soap and start lathering up, so fast I almost drop it.

"I have so much to do today, and I'm so late!" I complain, scrubbing myself with the sponge quickly before rinsing and jumping out.

As I stand in my towel drying off, I brush my teeth, bouncing slightly on my toes in some attempt to speed it all up.

"Relax, no one has arrived yet." Hardin murmurs, grabbing my hairbrush and gently brushing my hair for me.

"There's two Alphas coming, and Winter and Jackson need training, and I also promised to watch a couple of the pups. Oh, and I need to speak with Maeve, I totally forgot to do it yesterday." I list off, the weight on my shoulders suddenly feeling heavier.

"We'll manage, what do you need to speak to Maeve about?" Hardin asks curiously, working the brush through a small knot in my hair.

"I know she's an omega, but on training day I let everyone take part and I realised that she is better than half of the wolves already in training." I say, a little excited if I'm honest.

I believe Maeve will be capable of great things, with some training and guidance, she'll be able to finally just spread her wings.

"Do you think she has potential to be a warrior?" Hardin frowns slightly, not displeased, simply a tad confused.

"She has potential to be something." I nod.

The second he's done brushing my hair, I turn around and kiss him lovingly.

"Thank you." I beam a smile, rushing to the closet and chucking sports leggings, and a sports bra with a baggy white sports vest.

"Love you!" I call out in a rush for the door, knowing he's not dressed yet.

"Love you too!" He calls back, and I shut the bedroom door despite wanting to stay with him.

It's partially his fault, he kept me awake until early hours and then let me sleep in. In a way I did need it, but today is just not a good day to be in a rush.

Grabbing a couple breakfast bars and a bottle of water from the kitchen, I head down to the training room as I eat.

"Running a little late." Jackson smirks knowingly the second I enter the room, my cheeks flush immediately.

"Shut up." I grumble, still eating the bar as I gulp a little water.

"Bet the Elders aren't too happy about yesterday." Jackson changes the subject, seemingly grim by the idea.

"They're forcing us to take responsibility of the packs, meaning that pretty soon we'll be overrun with vile abusing men and submissive abused she-wolves." I felt only resentment towards the men we'll soon have to deal with.

"They're sending them here?" Jackson's eyes grow wide.

"Yep."

Hearing Winter enter the room, I immediately give Jackson a look, one that tells him to say nothing.

"I'm sorry about yesterday, I didn't mean to snap at you...it's just hard to be around people when it's happening." I explain softly, giving her a small apologetic smile.
