"Are you still eating?" Zed scoffs as he comes waltzing into the kitchen like he owns the place.

"Are you still breathing?" I retort.

"Zed, leave her be for gods sake." Kage sighs, following behind him.

"I'm sick of seeing her stuff her face, no one eats that much!" He snaps, his tone irritated.

"Are you saying I'm fat?" I ask icily, placing the dish of chicken pasta down.

"Obviously!" Zed glares.

My eyes brim with tears instantly as I glance down at my thighs, completely self-conscious. I have been eating a lot, I didn't think I was gaining that much weight.

"Fix this, now." Kage seethes through his teeth.

Wiping away my tears, I slide off the chair and simply walk out of the kitchen. Why am I so upset by his comment?

"That's right, waddle away." I hear Zed mumble.

In a flash I shove Kage aside and grip the male by his balls, literally squeezing so hard that his entire body convulses as he cries out in agony.

"Say it again." I growl murderously, my eyes glowing red pits of rage.

"Let go you fucking psycho!" He almost screams in a high pitched tone as I grip tighter, my knuckles white. Zed turns pale.

"I am Alpha, you will either learn some respect or you will lose your place in this pack. Do you understand?" I seethe.

"Y-yes!" He groans out, body rigid with pain.

Releasing him, I turn and carry on walking out of the kitchen. The beta is lucky I didn't just rip his balls off, making comments about my weight. How stupid can he be?

The anger triggers my wolf, and the feeling of her presence doesn't fade even as my anger simmers. I could feel my eyes glowing, my body beginning to tingle as goosebumps cover my body. The urge to get outside growing, so I follow my body's urges and quickly head out back.

"LORI!" I shout at the top of my lungs, my hands cradling my growing bump as I'm forced to my knees.

Slowly, my body arches over as if I'm going to vomit, but I don't. My skin slowly tears open, revealing a glimpse of my wolfs grey fur beneath my flesh. The pain is manageable, something I'm familiar with.

"Breathe, and focus." Lori is by my side within the minute, helping me out of my clothes quickly.

"The slower the shift, the bigger the risk of loosing them. This needs to happen as quickly as possibly do you understand?" Lori asks me in a calm manner.

Nodding, I pant heavily.

"Bring me Zed." I demand, clenching my teeth as a wave of pain travels down my spine and across the sides of my belly.

Zed is quick to come out on Loris demand, probably loving the idea of me in pain right now.

"Oh god it's happening." I hear Jackson's horrified voice.

"What do you need me for?" Zed asks Lori.

"You need to tell Kalli what you think of her, right now." Lori pushes him in front of me, so I can see if for myself.

"She just threatened-"

"Do it!" Kage growls at him, knowing he's about to refuse.

Zed huffs and crouches down next to me.

"You're fucking useless." He smirks.

"A war over you? If I were Hardin, I would have tossed you over the border and let them rip you apart." He says.

His voice alone irritates me, and the fact that he's in my face, makes it so much worse.

"You're not worthy of being Alpha, and you're too weak to have a mate like Hardin. Don't you see? You'll never be anything more than the girl he bought out of pity." Zed spits at me.

His words hurt me, even though I know they're not true. That pain becomes anger, and that's exactly what I need right now.

"You're father was always right about you, being a weak child, a little girl that never grows up. We go to war, and you do what? Go to fucking Africa to play with the elephants?" Zed sneers down at me with loathing.

His words infuriate me, but it wasn't his talking that triggers the shift completely. It's the slight shift in direction towards me, the stance one takes when they move to attack.

Every single bone in my body snaps, reforms, and reconnects in two seconds flat, the quickest shift I've ever done in my whole life.

My wolf towers over Zed, teeth bared as she snaps her gigantic jaws in his face. Zed hits the dirt in shock of the sudden shift, the sheer size of my wolf takes him by surprise.

Kage quickly steps into view, his hand out stretching slowly to allow my wolf to inhale his scent, recognising him to be pack.

Shaking out her giant head, she growls lowly at Zed before walking over to Jackson. Right now, she's not ready to isolate herself from the pack, that happens within the last week or so of the pregnancy. For now, she's comfortable around the pack, calm enough to still allow my consciousness in.

Fun.
