"Oh my god!" I let out a moan, stretching out my legs in pure relief.

Over ten hours in a car, no matter how big the car is, is still uncomfortable. I honestly don't know how Hardin isn't crippled from driving all the way to New Orleans to pick me up.

"If you ever leave like that again, I'm going to set everything you own on fire!" A familiar voice snaps with anger that instantly brings a smile to my face.

"I missed you too, Jackson." I quickly drag him into a hug. The fact that it's dark out now, doesn't stop him from being here, or any of us being able to see.

"I'm going to hug you back, but I'm still angry at you." He grumbles, doing exactly that. I squeeze the life out of him for about ten seconds, before stepping away.

Hardin won't jump my throat over a hug, but he has limits on his control.

"What happened?" Jackson scowls, crossing his arms. Is he trying to intimidate me? I thought with amusement.

"My wolf chose to run seven hundred miles, instead of ripping that little dickheads face off." I comment bluntly, glaring at the male approaching us.

Seeing my instant change in attitude, Hardin moves closer while Jackson takes that moment to move back. Its not Zed that approaches me, no, it's my brother.

The second he comes near me, I make my feelings perfectly clear before he can make some excuse for what happened.

"I'm not interested-"

"I should have explained." Kage cuts me off.

"I definitely shouldn't have dealt with your reaction the way that I did, and I know that I hurt you when I put Zed first. I'm sorry." Kage speaks directly to me, staring down at me with defeat.

I blink, and then I punch him.

"Ow!" Kage yells, covering his nose that gushes with fresh blood. He glares at me accusingly, not understanding why I hit him, again.

"I forgive you." I declare.

"You sure? You seem a little angry." Kage eyes me wearily, using his sleeves to wipe away the blood.

"I'm calm." I state.

"Kal, I hate to agree with him but you do seem kinda pissed." Jackson mutters to me with a grim look.

"I ran seven hundred miles! Do you know how hungry that made me?" I snap at my brother.

"What-"

"Make me a sandwich, chicken and salad, hold the salad." I demand.

Kage looks at me with wide eyes, completely baffled by my attitude. No one says anything.

"Um...sure, give me a minute." Kage grumbles, turning and heading the same way he came.

"You're not angry." Jackson comments, realising that I'm too calm.

"No, I just want a sandwich." I smirk, uncaring for how much of a bitch it makes me look.

"How long before he realises?" Hardin wonders.

I shrug. "Hopefully a while, I'd like to milk his guilt." I couldn't help but snigger.

"Remember how I once said mates turn us into monsters?" Jackson asks me with a smirk.

"It's true." I confirm.

"Don't blame me." Hardin comments with amusement.

"I would kick a baby for you, be grateful." I frown at him, acting like I'm completely serious right now.
